Small recommendation. Rubber washer or bushing on the mount, takes out vibrations.

Not a bad idea. I still have to refinish the hole in that fender well that I had to cut for the disposable filter that attaches to the bottom of this thing. That all needs to be cleaned up and repainted. I’ll add a second mounting point for the bracket and find some proper rubber washers when all that happens.

Building an engine capable of spinning 10,000rpm (not going there.. but) takes a lot of work. Weighing and then matching the moving parts… 😵‍💫 We’re talking tenths of a gram. Crank is balanced, block is clean and on the stand and finishing up the rotating assembly. Bearings are next. Another interesting thing coming up 🤓 I’ve decided I’m not doing this shit (at least to start) without a wheelie bar. The new suspension is supposed to keep the front down but I can’t find my written guarantee that this thing isn’t going to launch straight up to the moon when those wastegates close. So…. I’m going to build a special new kinda thing called an off-set single wheel wheelie bar 😎. I bought a build it yourself kit from Quarter-Max. The single wheel is offset to the passenger side. It moderates the hit on the right rear tire where it’s needed the most and of coarse will put a stop to an uncontrolled front end launch. One of the problems I have now with a conventionally mounted wheelie bar is there’s no room for the upper bars because the car sits so low on the rear tire and my fuel system (pumps) are in the way. This new setup is placed lower on the axle and will be parallel to the ground at 6” all the way from directly under the axle to the wheel. Not a lot of these out there yet but I talked to some builders and they say that testing on Pro Stocks and even Pro Mods has proven that they work. No doubt I’ll get some WTF’s 😝 IMG_8358.jpeg IMG_8357.jpeg IMG_8356.jpeg

I've seen a single wheel in the middle, but with offset I'd be worried about 1 rear tire coming off of the ground when the wheelie bar hits. Hopefully they've figured that out.

Are you still running a radial? I dont see this playing nice with a radial tire.

I’ll be doing more small tire (10.5) 1/8 mile class stuff. But also 315 radial. The new suspension is very tunable. Not at all like what I was running so we’ll see.

Some progress made on figuring out how to make this bar work. Still cutting and tack welding the fittings to get the bars to come together at the wheel. Figuring out the upper and lower bar attachment points with the lengths of the bars has been a puzzle. I think I’m going to have to shorten the total length to get it to do what I need. Engine build is still in progress. Fitting rings and bearings tomorrow IMG_8414.jpeg IMG_8413.jpeg IMG_8423.jpeg IMG_8431.jpeg IMG_8452.jpeg

While I’m here…. I came across a super nifty interior light. With the wiring redone for the race setup, one thing that wasn’t considered was a light to allow me to see inside the car at the track at night. Couldn’t see the shifter to tell what gear I was in while in staging. Problem solved! A billet roll bar mounted LED. Push on/off. $40 😎 IMG_8417.jpeg IMG_8420.jpeg IMG_8421.jpeg

I'd want a red or orange led "mood" light on all the time at night so I could see things. You guys think about that?

Install a small 12v fan that points at the seat, when in the staging lanes you’ll love it 😂

Done ✅. Bought this to put on the lens. Red window film. That way it won’t affect night vision and the inside of the car will glow red. IMG_8468.jpeg
