Not a bad idea. I still have to refinish the hole in that fender well that I had to cut for the disposable filter that attaches to the bottom of this thing. That all needs to be cleaned up and repainted. I’ll add a second mounting point for the bracket and find some proper rubber washers when all that happens.
Building an engine capable of spinning 10,000rpm (not going there.. but) takes a lot of work. Weighing and then matching the moving parts… 😵💫 We’re talking tenths of a gram. Crank is balanced, block is clean and on the stand and finishing up the rotating assembly. Bearings are next.
Another interesting thing coming up 🤓 I’ve decided I’m not doing this shit (at least to start) without a wheelie bar. The new suspension is supposed to keep the front down but I can’t find my written guarantee that this thing isn’t going to launch straight up to the moon when those wastegates close. So…. I’m going to build a special new kinda thing called an off-set single wheel wheelie bar 😎. I bought a build it yourself kit from Quarter-Max. The single wheel is offset to the passenger side. It moderates the hit on the right rear tire where it’s needed the most and of coarse will put a stop to an uncontrolled front end launch. One of the problems I have now with a conventionally mounted wheelie bar is there’s no room for the upper bars because the car sits so low on the rear tire and my fuel system (pumps) are in the way. This new setup is placed lower on the axle and will be parallel to the ground at 6” all the way from directly under the axle to the wheel. Not a lot of these out there yet but I talked to some builders and they say that testing on Pro Stocks and even Pro Mods has proven that they work. No doubt I’ll get some WTF’s 😝
