I have always had that mental block about that 100k price of cars...in 2005 I passed on a ford GT...listed for 135 if`I remember...the Dealer wanted to move it...I coulda got it for 118...couldn't pull the trigger..it didn't help that my friend (used exotic car dealer) assured me in a couple of years I could pick up one for 85 or so...at the high line dealer auction...I was a fool...and one of the first times he was wrong....picked a fine time to be wrong

I passed on an aventador ultimae almost 18 months ago, the msrp was circa 560 or 570 after options. Biggest mistake of my car adventures so far, that car is now worth around $1.1 million.

Would have literally doubled my money as soon as I took delivery of the car 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

If you want something to geek out over this was interesting. Used to be in to the time travel theories and had lots of discussion with my college physics professors.

Folks I've talked to that own them claim they're super reliable and have very few issues. Look pretty easy to work on too for like maintenance items.

I'd probably not go nuts with mods, maybe a tweak here or there. My buddy ran 10.30 at 133 in his bone stock 911 Turbo on street tires. Says it's too easy in the AWD. That got my attention.

They are something else.
A 911 is on my bucket list.

And the whole D170 100k allocation thinking got me seriously looking at GT3s/Turbos.

And Dr Porsche approached the Nazis with what would become the VW Beetle as an easily produced mass production car for the working man.
He did this so he could have the funds to build his race cars.

At least a 100k Redeye, you got a car that has been trading in that price range for a year or so.
But throwing away 100k for a chance to buy a 100k car? I was close to pulling the trigger but glad I didn't.
Local one went for 125k over.
Another dealer said there's is spoken for but still shows up on the HP locator
A Power Broker that is MSRP didn't get any additional allocations.

So at this point, i've thrown in the towel on getting one.

I think we can all agree the Redeye isn't a $100K car. They were like $85K with Power Dollar discounts a while back making them like $78K which is more like it IMO. Once all this last year hype is over and people move on the values will normalize I think. If they announce the next gen Hemi V8 in the new lighter platform that'll really set things but that's still a year or two out. If it looks too much like a sports car I'm out though. I dig the traditional muscle car character these have over a sports car in this line up.
