Google says they sold 10,204 911s in 2022.

I've been browsing, but didn't join. I'm still struggling with the thought of paying $100K for a car. My first house was about that.
Yes and no, you have to account for inflation and the market rises in general for real estate

While ur first house may have been 100k a 911 at that time may have only been 40k.

If your house today is worth 300-600k the equivalent of you buying a 100k porsche today might be the same as you buying a 40k porsche back then.

No 911 but grabbed 981 at a good price and tacked on 60k mike 5 year warranty and service package. Base w/some decent options, looks great and still really fun to drive. The pdk is awesome! 911’s are out of the ballpark for us lol

981 can be driven to more extremes that a 911 can unless ur a professional driver.

981 chasis is so well balanced imo, the gt4s and gt4rs are absolutely incredible to drive on a track, love the gt3 but that car requires tons of track time or a pro driver to use its full capability.

I get inflation and all, it's still over $100K for a car though lol. Just seems crazy but figure getting a gently used one I can enjoy it a few years and sell it for about what I paid for it. Seems they take a pretty substantial depreciation hit off the cuff then levels off.

Year 1-3 is usually the toughest, after that they come back to reality, also helps that the previous gen 991.1 and 991.2 msrp's were more realistic.

In 2015 a turbo s started at 182k
In 2023 a turbo s starts at 230k

That's a combo of shortages + ridiculous inflation

Our “family” 911 Turbo S Cabriolet is a 2005 model year. It sold in Riverside Cal in 2006 for 159k (plus T&L). So… $170,000 OTD! That’s in 2006 dollars, so today 🤯. We bought it in 2014 with 19,000 miles for $60k. We now have 30,000 miles on it and quick check on line says it would sell for over $100k. Best car investment I’ve ever made 😗 136DCC5A-C4B3-426C-846B-3EF777C57C21.jpeg

Folks I've talked to that own them claim they're super reliable and have very few issues. Look pretty easy to work on too for like maintenance items.

I'd probably not go nuts with mods, maybe a tweak here or there. My buddy ran 10.30 at 133 in his bone stock 911 Turbo on street tires. Says it's too easy in the AWD. That got my attention.

Mine is the fullyest loaded AWD with everything they had and then some (including the outrageously expensive ceramic brakes). Neve had to spend a penny on it and it hauls ass scary fast around corners. No idea what it would run a 1/4 in but probably not bad. I entered the freeway once at 140 mph off a moderately long on-ramp. When the boost comes on, you know it 🥳

Awesome cars in their own right...but talk about an aging style platform...
Why mess with something that works, and sells. Even if a bit long in the tooth. This goes for our platform as well.
I do think the 911 is damn near a timeless platform, at least close.

I don't know how anyone could argue that

I have always had that mental block about that 100k price of cars...in 2005 I passed on a ford GT...listed for 135 if`I remember...the Dealer wanted to move it...I coulda got it for 118...couldn't pull the trigger..it didn't help that my friend (used exotic car dealer) assured me in a couple of years I could pick up one for 85 or so...at the high line dealer auction...I was a fool...and one of the first times he was wrong....picked a fine time to be wrong

I sure wouldn't mind if they kept making the Challenger exactly as is. Even if it eventually would only come with the 3.6.

That'd still be better than most the modern crap.
