Getting closer and closer to making some baseline passes finally! Thanks to forum member "Wayne" on here, my Demon wheels arrived with Hoosier 325/45/18 drag radials (my Weld 17s are still on back order). Can't wait to try them out hopefully next week! Also, my Demon race filter arrived today.

Weekend plans... install DIRS diff brace and plastidip the Demon wheels gray to match front Super Stock wheels. 20211001_200504[607].jpg 20211001_200450[608].jpg 20210930_211549[609].jpg

It will be interesting to see how the car hooks with that tall tire.

Weekend did not quite go as planned... In order to put the Super Stock on the lift to install the diff brace, I had to take the "current occupant" (99 Trans Am WS6) off the lift and trade places. Lowered the Trans Am down, fired it up and it felt rough... Backed it out of the garage and it died right in front of the garage door. Stuck a fuel pressure gauge on it and confirmed the fuel pump was dead. Oh well, pushed it back in the garage and put it back up in the air. Might have to put the diff brace on the Super Stock the old fashioned way--on the floor with jackstands!

I did finish plastidipping my Demon wheels in anthracite gray. They are a very close match in color, however the Super Stock wheels are glossier. I even put some "glossifier" on top of the plastidip, but it didn't help much. At any rate, I think they will look fine mounted up since the fronts and rears won't be right against each other. Probably will not be able to tell at all while making passes, which is all I was hoping for! 20211004_211448~2[616].jpg 20211004_211440~2[615].jpg 20211003_163046~2[622].jpg

Wheels look amazing, I really hope to pick up a set of Demon 18s some day.

How do you swap the filter? Loosen up the rubber intake hose to the throttle body and filter housing, then swap the filter?

Thanks! And I haven't even looked at the filter yet...

I think you may need star-headed sockets too to loosen the bolts, I don't have a set like that yet. I do have a Demon race filter that I would like to throw on soon though...

I have that yellow air hose. How'd you get it out of my SUV?

You remove the boot completely. I think it is a 5/16 socket. Then the 3, T-25 screws come out all the way. Be careful when removing and reinstalling because there is a "T" slot at the bottom end of the filter and that must be engauged and the tab can break off.

Tried my best to go racing this evening but was too rushed by the time I got around to working on the Super Stock... But at least I'm ready, aside from putting on the Demon race filter. Got the diff brace put on this afternoon, and mounted up the big 325/45/18 tires! Btw, check out the weight gauge on the lift... she's portly! Sadly the gauge seems relatively accurate! Hoping for good weather next week so I can finally get some baselines! 20211014_171945~2.jpg 20211014_171911~2.jpg 20211014_171437~2.jpg 20211014_170325~2.jpg 20211014_163656~2.jpg 20211014_154233~2.jpg 20211014_145429~2.jpg

Will be interesting to see how those Hoosiers hook up on the SS.

I used them on my 17 Z06 and always got 1.46-1.50 60 ft. with them.

Nice garage BTW.

Tip: If you happen to drop one of the 3 screws, or, the T25 socket into the front belly pan which is VERY easy to do (ask me how I know ) ! You should not have to remove the front pan which is a total PITA ---- simply remove the rear pan under the oil pan which is simple with just the 4 bolts and with a flashlight and a magnetic long handle tool look inside the front pan and fish around if needed ! I found mine without needing the mag tool.

Have to admit those 325/45/18 tires look amazing on a widebody --- no more fender gap !

I only had them on my Redeye for about four miles, using them when I had one of my OEM Pirellis suffer a severe puncture that a can of tire slime wouldn’t fix. A tire change along the side of the expressway wasn’t fun, but they did look beautiful! I’m glad they went to a good home. By the way, anyone that deals with BoostedGTA should know they are dealing with a first class guy that did exactly what he said he would in purchasing these wheels and tires. 5E6B5F52-1EAA-4D95-B1A8-33B84B16DABD.jpeg 56D750E8-A5E9-4265-B00C-E5DD647F1235.jpeg

Well, the maiden voyage is out of the way... did not have stellar results by any means, but will post this up anyway! Here's a recap of the car as it was raced last night:
-Demon wheels with Hoosier 325/45/18 DR2's
-DIRS diff brace
-Removed front sway bar
-Removed washer fluid
-Removed trunk floor/compressor tray

Only made 2 passes due to rain that came after 2nd pass, and the fact that I video all of our local 864 Top Ten List races which were also going on that night (side note: I was the #1 on the 864 list for about a year in my C5 Z06 twin turbo 427ci). We got delayed by the rain quite a bit as well as several track cleanups so no more passes after those initial 2. Car ran 6.88/101 and 6.93/100 and I was REALLY confused. I had the car in Track mode, chiller on during the passes, and it was on 98 octane. Car dead hooked with 1.50 60 ft's both times. It wasn't until after I got home that I figured out an issue... And this is why you should always datalog! The car shifted 1-2 at 5000 rpm's, 2-3 at 5700, and 3-4 at 6200. If the logged MAP Kpa is correct, then boost in the first 2 gears was around 12 psi (what is everyone else seeing for boost?).

Since Dodge's are new to me, are the shifts based strictly on output shaft RPM? (in GM, it's a combination of MPH and RPM). I know my speedometer isn't correct with a 29.5" tire but thinking it's more the TCM adaptives than a matter of programming my tire height. I'm going to go back next week and get some back to back passes and see what happens, and I may just throw on my Weld 17x10's on with 28" drag bracket radials since traction does not seem like it will be factor. I really like the look of the 29.5's and how they hooked on the street--they may become my "drive around" tire.

Can't wait to get back out there and get some seat time along with improvements!

Also, I know, I know... I didn't use the line lock. Tried it before I got to the track and I didn't do something right... does it have to be in Manual shift mode with the shift lever? I got so much to learn on this car...
