I love my Redeye. Overall a more refined Hellcat. I've had another local person tell me the same, we both agreed and like whatever Dodge did with the A8 trans tune/shift points in the Redeye. Dodge took something great and made it even better! The fit and finish of all my panels line up a lot better than my 15's did as well. These cars will run mid 10s on just a tire and pump gas, whats not to like! The killer chiller and line lock are also some awesome features that I have used several times. The exhaust seems to have a different tone to it, and sounds louder imo as well. The supercharger whine is more pronounced imo too (likely because of the intake change). Dodge did a great thing by also giving us a base version and letting us add the options we really want to buy. As much as I enjoyed the Harmon Kardon, I don't miss it for the extra cost and weight. My Redeye is for 1/4 mile duty and I had no intention of putting any extra weight on it than I needed to. Speaking of love the rear seat delete option too! I never used the back seat anyway for anything but my race gear, which I still do with the cargo net. Lastly I know the hood is a bit controversial with some, I really like the old hood too. That said the vents on the old hood always got water down in them while washing the car and the new hood prevents a lot of that. Keeping things a bit cleaning inside.
I like the old hood personally. For the looks but more importantly for the functionality..Heat reduction with the heat extractors. After parking I can feel the heat escaping through the extractors (vents). How much hotter is your RE running now or how much heat is not able to escape. Heat is the enemy! Guess only time will tell.

Racers trick:
Remove the cowl rubber strip by the windshield area. That way no matter what hood you have the heat and some pressure are released. ;)
Never understood what that thing is there for any way. Serves no purpose. There's a generous valley/hill cast into the plastic cowl cover by the windshield wiper area making it impossible for water to get on engine/ wiring anyway.
It was one of the first things I removed on my car.

I’ll look into it. Thanks!

Dodge went to the new hood for a reason, pulls more air in, makes more power. The intake on the Redeye alone is giant compared to that of the Hellcats. As far as heat I have 2 simple options, after run cool down and killer chiller. Both of which work far faster and better than the heat extractors on the older hood.

I'm thinking more and more of my new Redeye. I'm still getting the break-in miles out of the way, and at 489 miles....I couldn't help it...I tromped it hard for the first time and WOW...it delivered!! This thing is "off the chain"! Personally, I think the whole package is tuned much more aggressively,

To be honest; I have to pinch myself everyday knowing I own this amazing beast.

WOW ---- 801 HP @ 6400 RPM (SAE measured) "as received" from the factory !

The new dual snorkel hood with the "red eyed" badges are just PERFECT for me.

Love the clean muscular retro look, the gorgeous interior and the amazing exhaust tone.

A beautiful, solid, comfortable touring machine with cutting edge technology and BEYOND description power.

LOVE IT ! (y)

Dumb question....how do you activate the After Run feature? I go to the menu and click on it to Activate but I don't hear anything. Does the car need to be in OFF or in RUN mode and does the hood need to be propped open?

That's the one thing I haven't been able to figure out on my beast lol. But usually, I go for a long cruise and then put her away for the week so it hasn't been a huge issue - just annoying lol

Easy way is to activate it before you turn the car off

I would like to know that myself !!! ----- only have 300 miles on the car so far; but, I always open the hood immediately for about 15 - 20 minutes at a car show or returning back in the garage because not comfortable with all that heat being semi trapped under there which was not a concern with the hood vents on my 16 & 18 Hellcats.

Guys easy to do and very interesting.
Go to the Race Options page.
IMG_0696.jpg
Once into the cooler section. Just press the screen icon that currently says "Activate Quick Cooldown"
IMG_0697.jpg
After you press it, it changes to: "Deactivate...". When you shut the car OFF, AND the hood remains closed, the fans will come on high speed and you can really feel the hot air on both sides coming out just about under the doors.

Hmm do you really want to read my detailed, lengthy, never ending, happy critiquing dialog explaining my inner personal thoughts, facial expressions, body gestures, others reactions, ears ringing, hair flowing, nodding and waving, not wanting to end the drive, can’t wait too drive, damn need the truck today can’t drive the Redeye, it’s lousy weather that sucks, it’s awesome day today riding with all the windows down and sunroof open, just smoked a wanna bee, cars are taking pictures of me and filming as I drive by, others drivers want me to nail her and I do with all the thumbs up, people gawk at me, people come up to me and compliment her, people will act like they are not looking but in my rear view mirror I see them lurking after I drive away, construction crews doing road work stop working to look, I just have to give her some gas in the tunnel lol it’s awesome as she barks, I go from auto setting to sport setting depending on the current road conditions, i carefully park her and lock her, I wonder how the break in period is going, I wonder where all the other Redeyes are then I think yeah ain’t many, other Challenger non Hellcat owners try to catch up to say hi, on lousy roads she gets a little squirmy with those factory big ass wheels, she bounces you around on lousy roads which gives you a little work out, she brakes instantly like nothing, she just purrs down the road at 1500 rpms doing 70 mph, she sits you in your seat when you nail her at 40-50mph and just scoots instantly like no other car I have owned, remote start is awesome to hear her come to life, she idles like a wild beast wanting to escape, looking over the hoods dual scoops is beautiful like a women’s (ok I won’t say it got to keep it clean), the open air from lights so cool, the functional hood scoops so neat, the rear performance spoiler just bad ass, widebody stance really nice, front fascia intimidating, interior layout just right, instrumentation awesome, SRT pages really great, heated seat and vented so sweet, heated steering wheel awesome, driver seat plenty of room and extremely comfortable, rear taillights totally cool, Uconnect really nice. Line lock awesome, after chiller even more awesome, Supercharger big and beautiful, exhaust just right, paddle shifters damn right, billet gas and brake controls nice, big ass factory air Intake filter cool, beefy transmission kick in the pants, trunk fits a lot of stuff, easy get into access and get out very good, my pride and joy beyond all other vehicles and extremely lucky in this life to be able to own one of the nicest baddest ass Muscle cars made to date AMEN.

Source of the pic please? Not ONCE have I ever seen Dodge state that the Redeye makes 801 hp "from the factory". It says 797 in all of their marketing and sales material. Literally everywhere.

I know this is silly to argue the point over 4 hp, but just wondering where that pic is from.

Agreed, not saying it's not accurate, but I'd like a source too. Dodge would want to use their highest number in advertising. Makes no sense to undersell it, with the only reason (I can think of) trying to stay away from anything 800+ to protect their Demon and the owners.

Even though it won't change my dyno numbers one bit, the kid in me would have preferred the number be 801 instead of 797. Sounds a tenth faster just saying it! lol.

It's shown on my display poster I got from RAYZAZOO on the other forum.
I'll send Ray a PM and ask where he got those values and report back ASAP.

Thanks to all. This is a great thread. For those of us who are back in the market (for another Challenger), it's nice to hear how this new model / trim line is being received. However, there are always two sides to every coin. I know it's a great car, but if you could change anything (ordered differently), what would that be?

Deliver it when the snow is not on the ground. Seriously, it is just how I want it. Going to do some bushings and control arm work and a couple of other little things for road course work this winter. Hope to keep its street manners intact. For the street there just is not much better all things considered IMO, or I would have purchased something else for its price. They cost serious money!
