Those things will melt and can become a problem. This SOB took down my SC then the rest of the engine on the road course. 2019 RE. I do not use CATS off road any longer.

I don't recall exactly, do these look anything like your cats that shyt on themselves???
I pasted that pic above. That looks like it was beginning to plug up. Hell mine was blown apart. But it was being exercised big time the day before when most of that happened I imagine. The day b4 was a great day and I did run the shit out of it and enjoyed it. It failed in the first session on Sunday, for the first time ever I was not running the chiller in Track Mode because it was in Street Mode or whatever nothing is, due to some surface moisture in a couple of areas. I was cheating a bit just in case I needed some help with TC. The SC must have heated up and busted itself up. Shit happens at about 6000 RPM high up in 6th gear.:p

Yikes ...that don't look good @ all
BUT! It took them three weeks to agree etc. they covered it! Complete engine including a replacement oil cooler of course. Not modified, not racing, I even gave the dealer access to the video I always shoot on the tracks with all real time engine info when it failed. But damn, if any times are recorded, any awards are given any comparison of times other than a conversation with your buddy, and it is racing and no deal.

I aligned it. After lowering the rear camber was close enough but the toe needed adjustment. On the front the toe also was off but the dip-shit at the dealer changed the left front. So I have it where I think it goes. Now I will bring it to someone who I trust with a fancy machine to check my toe both rear and front. Good looking new red Eibach springs with some old AAD hardware..

I used the flood clear procedure for the first time to get oil to the top end without starting
I used that too when I took my car out for the first time this spring. Gave it a few full crank cycles until I saw 90+ PSI oil pressure and fired it up. The motor probably appreciates it.

My car is a bit “custom” so was worried I’d drive through my toolbox 🤣

90??? That new engine is building some pressure! Stock pump, aftermarket, or stock pump that’s shimmed?

Oh ya, stock oil pump. Jim does something to it but won't give away his secret. My guess is some kind of shimming but I'm not sure. My hot oil pressure is generally somewhere in the low to mid 80's. Sometimes dipping to the mid/low 70's but only at idle.

Well I officially have a 50k mile daily driver redeye! Owned it since new - now for 5 years and 8 months. Celebrated yesterday by swapping in a 180 Milodon thermostat for the warm season. Probably should throw a code in the next day or two ;)

What a ride it has been! 15 oil changes, air filter change every 9 months here in the desert. Probably a couple hundred drag strip passes, kind of lost count of sets of tires, really haven’t had any issues other than upper supercharger pulley and snout replaced under warranty because it started leaking grease.

Coming up on needing brakes on all 4 corners and going to do the spark plugs. Probably should do the tranny fluid soon too.

She’s got a couple paint chips and some wear from the kids in and out etc. Really couldn’t imagine driving anything else right now though.

Going to need to do an evening ride. DA right now is about 1040’. The dew point is 34 with a temp of 58. Yes, I’ll be careful.

Drove it. 75 degrees, mostly sunny, no humidity. I went by the firehall where my brother volunteers [he also has a twin car]. He wasn't there but got a good backdrop shot or two....

Had the day off so cleaned the car up and swapped out the rear wheels I picked up last weekend. Some used 20×11 m392 wheels with nittos drag radials. Haven't had drag radials on the street in 2 years. Nice to be able to get some grip. Did a 4th gear pull and you really forget how fast your car is when you can't do that on regular tires. Thinking on getting two more of those wheels for the front to change the cars look a little 20250509_111311.jpg 20250509_111342.jpg
