On the street, don't try to take one from a light... those areas of the road are always the worst and you'll never hook. Catch up to them from a roll and you'll show them the tails pretty quickly.

They are quick for sure...but soulless and utilitarian. The Hellcat makes one feel alive more than any other car I've owned...hope options like the HC continue to exist into the future.
If you look at what direction they are going today, soulless and utilitarian seem to be the norm. Can you still tell a car (manufacturer) from the look of the car? I used to be pretty good at - not so much most of the new stuff anymore...

So true. Even the act of driving itself is pushing automation.

"Racing"

Such a subjective word...

Seems like one LEOs interpretation of racing is another's interpretation of cleaning out the carbon.

That's still a thing, right? Cleaning out the carbon?

I'm not saying it was a great thing to do, but my Grandfather used to do the thing where he would poor a glass of water down the throat of a carburetor on a running engine...

There was a Tesla at the Ocala 1/2 mile event. I don't know what it ran, but that thing came out of the hole like a beast! Just a sneaky quiet one.
A sneaky quiet one?... So like a FART you say...:LOL::LOL:

Just walk away from that one...:LOL:

Never heard of that trick before but, I guess that would cause some clearing response to take place. Maybe a backfire.

Another unconventional way to treat your car. Adding a quart of oil...:LOL::LOL::LOL:

They all look like suppositories.

Nothing I'm going to try to use....

:p
I just noticed the Model X is missing from the list... must either have not made it (ran out of juice) or is already stuffed up in place.

I was able to correctly guess most of those. Would be even easier from the front or back, but even a side profile can be attributed to a manufacturer. For most I can also tell you the model.

Do the same thing for mid-size cars in the '80s... I think you'll find that just as difficult.

There's one creeping around my little town always wanting to race. Of course he only challenged my 1000hp Shelby when we were at a light knowing I couldn't hook. Wonder if he's smart enough to stay away from the incoming Redeye?

Was at the track last weekend with 100D model S and it ran identical ETs to me but at 6-7 mph lower traps. They are 1/8 mile monsters for sure, after that a lot of cars will take them.

It's so nice to live in a Tesla-free zone.

It's like watching a blockbuster movie/game with that awesome DTS/Dolby/Atmos/whatever soundtrack on mute, with subtitles.
