Taken a stock HC out at less than 45 degrees. Nail it at 100, and it breaks loose, we expected that It was even with regular street tires and not drag radials. I will never use a drag radial again on the street. The Redeye was busting it loose to whatever speed when the alignment was off, with dry pavement and temps above 45 degrees. This is using the most sticky and largest tires I can find. I ripped it up to 120-140 or so a few times before I absolutely was spooked and glad I figured out how to align this thing correctly.

Mike it takes big balls to confess to the world what happened. Thank you. We appreciate your information, thanks for sharing.

Us folks who live in climates where the temp swings from -25 to +105 have an advantage of being able to drive RWD cars since we were born. Some of us have been here a long time! The old folks (ha, what I did call my parents not too long ago) could never understand why we were so thrilled at taking Dad's cars into snow covered parking lots in the 70's and 80's and doing donuts, drifting, messing around, busting wheels over curbs as we were learning how these things react. The one item that none of us could anticipate or practice is with something that has 700 ft-lb of torque! They can really leap!!

I drive in Track Mode on the courses, yes, it has stability control active. But, I have leaped off the track once and into the grass, it HAS attempted to do a drift a few times if I attempt to dump my accelerator too fast coming out of corners, so while stability control is present, it is a very light presence.

Glad you are okay, good luck collecting a fair settlement and getting yourself a new ride.

I hope at this point the INS. CO. totals the car. IF they authorize to fix it, I'll trade it in as soon as I can.
Hell, I'm even thinking of trading the TRX in to get the ball rolling now.
I will never drive another performance car in the winter months without AS tires on it. Or just leave it alone and sit in the garage.

Good luck my friend. Keep a SUV or truck if you can for the winter. Otherwise an entire set of wheels and snow tires can make these things work if you absolutely need to do that.

I lived up in Littlefork, Mn for a few years. I most certainly learned how to drive in rough weather. LOL.

get that sick feeling just looking at it...
unless there's something hidden and serious, I'd guess 16-18K, based on what's visible, plus probably a few things under the hood if the best of our local shops were to do the job

The Ins. Co. totaled it.
$16-$18 K wouldn't begin to fix it.
The only panel on the car that is straight is the trunk lid.
Driver's door won't open. The front end has been shifted to the left side.
All 4 wheels are damaged.
Lots of hidden damage, I'm sure.
I had 2 local shops look at it already and they both recommended to just total the car.
OEM part prices are crazy spendy$$.

It was picked up Friday by the Ins. Co. Maybe Copart will pick it up.
From what I could see, the engine was untouched.
Interestingly no glass was broken.

Did they give you an option to buy it back?

If I order another one, it will also be a different color.
First accident in 51 years and it has me spooked.

I'm with you on that one. I loved the Sinnamon Stick color on my '21 REWB but that car hated me. Everything I did with it was just harder than it should have been. I took the fun right out of it for me. I still like the Sinnamon Stick but I won't own another car that color.

IMHO the car would look great in white. It has enough black bits to really make that color pop.
The other color choice would be F8 green.
My old 69 Super Bee was similar in color, and I've always loved it.
Not going to lie, the Octane Red is a stunning color when it's outside in direct sunlight.

At my local drag strip they

Won’t let us run unless the track temp is 50

degrees.
