So I Ordered A 2023 Widebody Charger

I’m not following this too well? Charger or no Charger? 6.2, 6.4 or 5.7? Did you sell your old HC Charger yet? Are you trading it in? You had a lot of aftermarket parts and your super high dollar trailer for sale. Is the HC restored back to stock configuration, insured and tagged now? I thought you were “tired of always watching it” and “afraid to take it (your Hellcat) anywhere”…but you still ordered a new Hellcat? In between all this you decided to order a Coyote F150 and since changed your mind? This is all so you can get a new car that is covered by a warranty again…but then you say you can “mod it, cruise and race with it and not worry about something happening to it”? Are you going to race it with your daily driver tires on it or do you have a pit crew lined up to help you go race your new car? I missed something somewhere here?

I don't know exactly what I'm going to do. Just got back from a road trip in Taxi Kat.

1. Yes there's a Charger Widebody Hellcat that's currently being built.

2. There's a coyote f150 that's in transit. Could get here as soon as tomorrow.

3. Taking the Hellcat anywhere raises my stress level greatly. I hate the feeling when I walk out of the hotel and wonder if it's still there or has it been vandalized.

4. If I decide on the new Charger, it will stay essentially stock with just a few bolt-ons.

5. If I decide on the f150, on the other hand, will get modded and cut up to my hearts content. After all, it's just another f150.

6. Trailer is for sale. Ram 2500 diesel is gone. Challenger Scat Pack is gone.

7. No pit crew, no big deal. Just a few drag and drives along with car cruises and road trips with the f150 if this is the choice.

8. The f150 was ordered because, at the time, the chances of the Charger getting built was about 5%. It was ordered from a dealer who was 100% over allocation. All of a sudden, it's getting built in a matter of 30 days after it had been ordered months ago.

9. I'm only getting 1 new car. I have other car plans then adding 2 more new ones.

I hope this clears things up for you but I'm still in a quandary.

I have a coyote f150 in transit. It was ordered since chances of the Charger being built was pretty much 0% at the time.

Now that the charger is getting built, I've decided not to take the f150.




But.....my mind can change like the wind.

I'm more focused on the fun factor than the investment one.

I don't want to feel that I have to "protect" the car. I'm not a collector or investor in cars. I tried it and quickly got out. Not my thing.

Though I love the Challenger...the practical aspect of the Charger has always been a consideration for owning one..regret not pullin the trigger on a discounted power dollar car from Koons...by todays numbers...it was a steal..and now it's over...

I just drove around 500 miles today and I'm tired but not exhausted. The Charger is comfortable and handles well as we took all secondary roads and 0 interstates.

The car attracts so much attention from being video while driving down the road to people walking up to you at gas stations, restaurants, etc and just asking you questions about the car. So much attention.

This RF attack is industry wide, it all depends on the flavor of the season and locale. Having a F150 with a yote will get attention. However, knowing what you want to accomplish and since you don't carry grenades like I do as boobie traps in your HC I recommend the f150. Drag and drives are memories for a life time. Nozzle's walking up to you at the pump can become a hazard if they try and jack you.

Keep that boomer head on a swivel...

Not that it matters and some people might like it that way, but I've noticed that the '23 Chargers no longer have color-matched mirrors. They are all black across the entire lineup and not in any option package either. Used to be 392's and Hellcats always got color-matched mirrors but no more. Black plastic for everyone.

That's a deal breaker right there.

A lot of manufacturers for high performance cars are switching to gloss black or cf mirror caps, the explorer st is doing it, bmw has been doing it, and a few other manufacturers

But it is a tell tale way to tell a 23 from any other model year, because only 23s have them.

They look fine to me, david attached a picture of my redeye, I think red and black goes, his b5 and black goes, but on some colors it just doesn't look right or that great.

At the end of the day what can you do?

I was showing what the black mirrors look like. I'm OK with the car I ordered since the trim is all black.

I think you are mistaken. A f150 with drag radials is going to get a lot of attention especially if its a single cab and lowered.

The Taxi Kat got so much attention up in Georgia last week that it was uncomfortable. Mostly good but some asshole tried to hit me or run me off the road with his pickup.
