I decided to try out a new intake to have something to compare to the LMI. LMI was pretty good but I was looking to change some things up and kinda liked the box design on this so here we are. The LMI had a LOT of supercharger sound. This JLT has quite a bit but not quite as loud as the LMI was. I think the carbon fiber LMI tube allowed the sound to resonate where the composite on the JLT and it cushioned against the air box has a bit less, especially at light throttle.

Good job @Speedy! , I tried the JLT & then went with AFe Pro 5 R , which I like a lot.

Like you , I hide the clamps on the back side lol.

To see if the box is sealing to hood or how close it is , pull the hood vent out & filter off for room & close hood & put phone in the vent hole to video around the box. Then you can see if its close or not.

Looks nice @Speedy My HC is a 19 and has the open air filter from the factory. Wondering how much difference the JLT would make in comparison? Seems that it would be some but not nearly what you would see on the older closed systems.

I thought only 2019 and up Red Eye had the open filter? Do standard Hellcats have it now as well?

Great video! I note you have a filter on the driver's side valve cover. Is that in lieu of a catch can? Does it spew oil on the engine? Where did you get it? Thanks!

@Mean Cat, what is it about the AFe that you prefer over the JLT?

Had a LMI also and went with the aFe Pro 5R and I like it better too.

As always, thanks for the video. Pass along your thoughts or another video after you collect some data and track experience with it.

@Mean Cat, what is it about the AFe that you prefer over the JLT?
I don't want to down grade JLT bc its a good CAI but for me the JLT did not seal to the hood as claimed ( removing the hood vent & videoing inside is how I found out ) , the filter is almost too big for the box as it pushes to the end of the box , & the box just looked too big sitting in that spot.

The AFe doesn't have a box , it has a engine bay block off panel that does seal to the hood a lot better in my case & doesn't look too big , the filter is big but doesn't look squished in that area so it looks more natural in that spot. It comes with a pre filter for rain but mine is not a DD anyway.
I did get the JLT hood vent block off panel that I keep in the trunk just in case needed but with it off you can hear the whine from s/c better , which I like.

JLT here and love it. I've used JLT on all my hot rods.

I've tested both at the track . They are both comparable to each other ( JLT vs LMI ) it comes down to a personal preference.
