That was my thought. I would think a 2.85 would be closer to 14psi

You are correct normally a 2.85 will yield 14-15 psi on a stock hellcat with a stock supercharger at sea level .
Once you free up the inlet restriction it will raise psi . @16GoManGoHC2 has a ported supercharger with a FAS bearing plate so his inlet is about the most unrestricted you can get .

I myself picked up 1.5 psi after I ported my supercharger and added a 105mm throttle body .

As @Speedy! Mentioned aircharge is king but you need to datalog to see it .

Your clutch will hate you.
I wouldn’t waste my time doing e85 just to run a 93oct pulley, but that’s me. At elevation I think the 2.85 will get old without a lower to help it.

So I guess I just leapt off of the cliff, because I went after the 2.85 in the Marketplace.
That was a good deal. I think you’ll be happy. I’d go ahead and get a crank pin kit

They are set up stock yet and very sensitive, I’m hoping that’s what was triggering them. While off and apart I opened up the inlet to match the BBK 100mm TB that’s going to be the next addition. It’s a hair under 100mm as I wanted to retain the factory oring groove but with the BBK attached it’s a near perfect smooth transition from T to snout. I've contemplated doing this as well. Did you remove the front bearing plate and do any work there?

Starting and ending grit?

Did you consider an smoother finish? (Polished)

Good reading everyone! This is new thinking, about desiring to optimize but not max it out. Thanks. @BULL please keep us/me posted on who among these tuners wants to be the one to step into the road course tuning arena. Yes, we would like more power, tunes especially for shifting and traction, but with more power we have a little problem with heat and durability. So I understand the moderation thinking as we hop these up. I am getting close to thinking about something for the RE before the government shuts us down.
I made some logs for Curt last year at Road America for a few laps. He gave me some very logical answers afterwards I think. I haven't pulled the trigger yet but I'm getting there.
I would only go smaller than a 3.17 on a road course if I was using E85. I already use a little more than 5 gallons of fuel each session. E85 will be worse so I guess I'd have to bring 25 gallons or so of that fuel to each track day.

25 gals isn't horrible when you have an enclosed trailer

I used a FAS plate, ruined my original blower the first installation because the bearing bores where too tight. Gained a Dyno proven 50 hp with it though on the second blower, luckily I had a new spare blower in a crate on hand. This dyno graph is before plate and after plate. I also port matched image.jpg the stock snout to the plate and added a fast man true 95 mm throttlebody.

I love E-85, and we can get it cheap in MN and WI, but darn TD we will burn more than a gallon a lap on both of those big courses. I showed last year burning about a gallon a lap at RA! I won’t forget to talk to you about your conversations with Curt when I see you soon. I’m in also, but want to make the right decisions. Like I said above, I am not sure what we can do for more power/heat, but I bet we can optimize a few things especially if they talk to a few of us, OR look at what we do to these things for 15-20 minutes.

E85 is pretty awesome. It's not only the extra volume (about 30%) of fuel going in to the cylinders to cool things down, but the alcohol's cooling effect on top of that. Well worth the trade off IMO. If you burn 5 gallons in a session, 30% more is just 6.5 gallons.

If you want to compromise, mix down to E70. You'll get roughly 98% of the benefit and burn a bit less. I've read articles where hopped up turbo cars made 1500rwhp on E70 no problem.

I wasn't always a fan, but once I saw the light I had to tell Curt he was right at ChallengerFest last year. He and I once had a debate on E85 vs race gas LOL.

I too was a skeptic of E85 ........ Now look what happened to me and we can't get it at the pumps here only cans/ barrels !

That stinks. I'm pretty lucky we have 5 or so stations within 3-4 miles of my house that have it. Two of those stations are Speedway brand which has been awesome and all I use. I'm getting ready to make my race fuel order for the season and I'm planning on getting the good E85 from Renegade this year for the track.

Race gas is perfect for the guys who don’t have access to e85 or don’t have the overhead in their fuel systems to handle the additional volume... otherwise, it’s e85 for everyone else.

Tell it brother
It’s all down hill from now in 😂🤣
he’s modding it, with like a 9” pulley though. So he’s in the deep end of the pool. But wearing these.
