What was your fantasy car when you were growing up?

What was your fantasy car ?
I was out in the shop today and came across some old car posters I had collected in the eighties and it got me wondering - what was your fantasy car growing up? For an all out (money is no issue) it was the Lamborghini Countach - I had the Apline stereo poster. As a real world car (one I could maybe afford) I always wanted an AAR Cuda - just a bad ass 340-6 barrel with a 4 speed.

It was always a 57 Chevy until the 64 GTO debuted. And then in 1967, it became a 426 Hemi R/T. I settled for a new 69 383 Roadrunner 4 speed and never looked back! I ended up being hooked on Roadrunners for 46 years and then got a Hellcat!

Born in 1977, saw the movies long after their release, on TV, fell in love with the Lambo, and ladies.
Wanted a Lambo ever since, but now I want a Huracan Evo AWD.

I like shiny tight spandex. Does that make me a simpleton? I dk. I saw a documentary where they flashed shiny objects in front of monkeys and they got an erection. Guess there's a correlation in there somewhere. LOL.

Koenigsegg CCXR was the #1 childhood dream car. Even 15 years later looks better than some of the new cars coming out!

3210lb's with one nasty mid-engine 4.7L twin-supercharged V8 that pushes 806HP 679tq. Top speed? A blistering 245-260 MPH in 2006.

Even the Stig couldn't handle it.

Any Trans Am, Smokey and the Bandit of course and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. I was under 10 when T and L came out...... it had a 70 or so White T/A with a blue stripe and then the obvious with Smokey and the Bandit.

I have owned a 71 White/Blue 455 HO 4 Speed car mostly original, a 79 Tenth Anniversary T/A 403 Auto, (when I met my wife) and the 89 Twentieth Anniversary with the GNX motor.

Now today I like a splash of performance in my daily drivers, but in the next couple years will get a true modern day scooter. A Hell Cat of some sort, or maybe a Big HP Mustang. I really like the late model Shelby's and GT500's.


I have not ridden in a Hellcat yet, but a friend of mine is into the late model Mustangs. Even has 2 of the factory Ford Cobra Jets that he cannot tag. Right of the trailer type cars he takes all over the country to race.

That kind of explains why I've had so many Jeeps. And the real kind, with flat fenders and when doors were optional.

Guy flew his in out here to run in the big bend open road race in unlimited class. Great car. Insanely expensive but one of the few I think you got near to what you paid for.

If you get a chance, a trip to the Lamborghini factory is well worth it. The nicest people you will ever meet. Pagani is right down the street, also great people.

Graduated high school in 1991. Me and my buddies would go walk the dealers on Sundays when they were closed and drool over 5.0 Mustangs, Trans AM's and Z-28's, the halo car to us was a T-Top Buick Grand National, which at the time was the Hellcat of today.

Over the course of life those dreams have mostly come true...
1. Have had a bunch of clean street/strip fox bodies
2. Currently have a cherry 1989 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350 keeping my 2019 Hellcat company
3. 10 second Buick GN with T-Tops - I will own one of these, but none yet have come my way
