Just got the bad ass 80 incher out, shined her up, checked everything, going to get to the oil this week. Took it out for a short checkout and remembered my favorite engine of all time. We have called this one “Sweetness” for a long time. Totally built EVO. A different cam could launch more impressive numbers, but why? It gets mid-40’s MPG. Blows away most any other “big” bike, plus don’t underestimate this old guy and it in the twisties. That old FXR has some clearance! It dyno’s with HP in the low 90’s and torque at about 90 that comes on instantly and is very flat across. It has aftermarket Andrews close ratio gears and nice stuff in the tranny and clutch otherwise. Just a incredible smooth machine that sounds great and is tuned by yours truly. Got a PHD in Mikuni carbs and timing of these types of animals.
