Same thing happened to 2 guys when I was in high school. No texting (it didn't exist yet) but they had been drinking & were hot dogging in an Opel GT.
Whipped out to pass a slow moving semi only to run smack into an even slower one in the next lane. Car went completely under the trailer, shearing off the roof & their heads !
Get use to seeing this. With all the new hands free driving cars that are becoming all the rage. GMC new one towing an Airstream while the driver is playing patty Cake. IDIOTS.

Since the bumper support is intact and everything above it is gone, I’d assume that the tractor trailer did have the appropriate bumper in place. It doesn’t STOP vehicles from going underneath it makes it harder to do so… hit it hard enough and you’ll go underneath it, well, some of you will.
