I don't know how much you're into them for, my typical entry fee to them ranged from $550-850/yr depending on how much extra stuff I would tack on.
I'm not sure if you are implying taking legal action against them to demand a refund, but it would seem like you would pay at least that in legal fees.
It certainly sucks, but I know each year when I payed, there was always that moment of pause when I would read the disclaimer about refunds, and talking about weather could cancel the entire event.
Again, it's not "fun", but this does seem like the same kind of thing.
This was the first time that Texas was a serious possiblity for us after Colorado was cancelled. We didn't book the trip for other reasons.
I don't know Shannon and crew personally, but I will say that I don't get the sense that they are swimming in profits from the event. That's why Colorado was permanently closed. It damn near killed the Texas event.
So with that said, I think as far as I would go personally is that if I had to, I would ask and appeal to them for a refund, perhaps even a partial refund, but I wouldn't pursue legal action, both from a practical standpoint, but also from a personal perspective.
