So the car has sat for a few months waiting for winter to end and I might have put 30 miles on it so far this year since the weather changed and I am noticing a ticking noise I never heard before. Doing some internet searches has lead me to believe this may be caused by worn bushings in the supercharger snout.
Anyone care to share their experiences or feelings on this ?
Thanks

always start with the simplest part to fix. Tensioner bearing or an idler.

So I decided to replace the tensioner and idler pulley with the Metco product as I did notice that although the bearings seemed ok it was visibly obvious that the belt had been slipping on the pulley as seen by the pictures below.

The Metco pulleys not only looked a lot nicer they were considerably lighter. IMG_7974.jpeg

When the belt was off I took another short video to try and show the noise I was hearing that had me concerned about the bushings in the snout. If you watch the video you can hear a definite “clicking” sound when I move the pulley back and forth.
I am wondering if this is normal or a sign that the bushings inside the snout are wearing. I think there are 6 or 8 plastic bushings inside the snout, that drive pins go into and I believe the noise is an indication that they have worn and are now sloppy.
I was wondering if anyone could confirm or alleviate my suspicions.
Here is a link to the video.
Thanks
