The United Auto Workers (UAW) strike in the United States, currently the largest in history, has brought to the forefront the contentious labor negotiations between the organization and major automakers. In the midst of this ongoing dispute, Stellantis, the company behind Jeep, Dodge, Alfa Romeo, and many other brands, has reportedly made a bold proposal to seek the unilateral right to sell its North American headquarters and technical center in Auburn Hills, Michigan, along with 17 other facilities.

Didn't the labor relations board step in and block the move to build another facility of Boeing in South Carolina ? Just because South Carolina is a right to work state and they needed to curb a labor dispute or something like that ? Maybe that was North Carolina I don't remember exactly which

Don’t know about a second one but the logistics hub for the 787 is in NC. Cost savings translates to non union.
Why is Boeing moving to South Carolina?


In 2020 Boeing announced it would consolidate assembly of 787 Dreamliners at the North Charleston facility. Boeing began producing 787s at its Everett, Washington, location in 2007, but opted to move all assembly to South Carolina in a cost-saving move, the Seattle Times reported.

General Motors is delaying the opening of a large electric-pickup-truck factory in Michigan, the latest sign that the auto industry’s enthusiasm around EVs is starting to wane as sales growth for these models slows.
GM said Tuesday that its Orion assembly plant in suburban Detroit would start to make electric versions of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra by the end of 2025, a year later than originally planned.

That's bad, I know of several people that have gotten bit by the gambling bug. They need to remember the phrase " NEVER BET A GAMBLING MAN'S GAME BECAUSE YOU WILL ALWAYS LOSE " but you won't see that posted outside the casino's entrance anytime soon .

The people that are as broke as a two dollar bill will always look for that pot of gold in the most obscure ways. Gambling is one of them.

Not like they need it. No CEO for North American operations has been filled since Manley left, all the future platforms are simplified and don't need much future engineering, and the cars for the next decade are already designed.

Stellantis Canada has a strike date of Oct 29 if no agreement is made

The good news is Ford & GM settled with out any issues
I think the GM strike lasted 12 hours
