So, it’s simple physics! Right?
Speed, velocity and acceleration are all different. Yes, I am being technical, sorry. Fast describes speed, (that shirt, is not fast compared to a Lambo) quick describes acceleration. Okay, it is quick. Move any finish line and the object to “cross” it first gets there first because of acceleration. Lose the acceleration component that exists for a shirt at low speeds by moving the finish line a greater distance from the start, and the real car in your example will cross the finish line first, BECAUSE IT IS A FASTER CAR! A much FASTER car.
Think about it, the shirt will hit its peak speed at about 165, at that point the other real car continues to accelerate! It won’t reach its peak speed until well over 200mph. The greater speed at that point causes movement relative to the two different objects than the relatively short intervals shown in the video, with the real car gaining advantage.
Every drag racer pays attention to the speed at the end of say a 1000’ or 1340’ standard “race”, as that component is different than the time it took to accelerate to a point on the earth from another point, and indicates other info to the participant.
