OOPS...

I had my 23 300C out this morning. I was on my way back home from breakfast with the car guys, and I was dicking around with the screen, to see what options I had on the SRT app. I was stopped at the intersection of a 5 lane highway at the time, and decided to give the 300 a snort of the "sport" mode. There wasn't a car in sight for at least a quarter mile in any direction, so when the light changed...I gave it the beans. After 3-4 gears of tire smoke across the intersection, I looked up to see a fully lit up SUV about a quarter-mile behind me. I'm sure I never got more than 5-over the speed limit. I pulled into my friend's race shop, and waited. It would appear that the smoke-show didn't amuse the sheriff. We did the ritual of a back and forth banter, and he let me go. I was kind of amused by his questions and statements. First time I've been pulled over in probably 15 years. The funny thing is, my friend and I were out the other day and saw about a half dozen LX type cars pulled over. I guess the 300 is also a "bad car".

Identical vehicle pulled up to me today. May have been the same one. Funny thing is, he was probably in the jail parking lot. I was at the intersection which is about 600 ft away.

Got pulled over last week. I was heading over to a Sick Week checkpoint. Motorcycle cop coming the other way turned around and hit the lights.

I pulled over and he came up. Asked me if I knew how fast I was going. I told him I had no idea.

74 in a 60. I just said, oh fuck.

Ticket or not? I got caught in a speed trap 300’ from our gat a couple of weeks ago. Preying on local taxpayers! It’s all about money. Just got finished my driver’s improvement course on the internet. I’ll never get back those 6 hours of my life! Be careful out there.

I had a similar situation (many years ago) pulling onto the freeway onramp - nice smoke show (short one) accelerating to about 40-45 mph (going into a 55mph speed limit). I was given a ticket for driving to fast for conditions (dry roads, partly cloudy day)...

Nothing. Cold pavement/all-season tires. and just stood on it. It had very little forward momentum...just spinning and shifting.
Long wheelbase cars spin the tires so easily. My old BB C-bodies did longer burnouts than my ebodies.

I would be going sideways.

I drove over the spot later yesterday, on an errand. Looked good. You can see how abruptly I got out of it. No fade, just stopped.

Not a lot of tire under the car, and I may have use the brake "a little" to "slow down".... definitely not a Hellcat burnout, but I was proud of my 340 Cuda smoke production... lol
At least until I saw the lights behind me...

My 340 Challenger would go all ape shit trying to get a launch out of it. It would either smoke the tires and bounce off the curb or bog out at lower rpm.
