Bull,

Please provide clarity what political comments/discussions are. For example is discussing lock downs, wearing masks, taking the jab, the state of the economy, what drugs work against covid, CDC stupidity, Fauci emails, etc. political discussions?

At the university , I was taught that politics is nothing more than getting your way (e.g. power) the dictionary says the following "the activities associated with the governance of a country or other area, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties having or hoping to achieve power"

Therefore, please define exactly what you mean by "politically themed threads".

Now if someone would mod their Hellcat like this. That would be a sight for sore eyes and a winner in my book. Flared fenders with some steam rollers. Go BIG or GO HOME ! ! !

Cole,

We could spend a lot of effort coming at the debate from that direction trying to define "politics", also, see guidelines in post #1.

Or in the context of this car forum, of which we have sub-forums for different fairly specific car topics, topics outside of those categories and that discuss politics belong in "Anything goes".

Putting threads in the correct sub-forums has always been a thing, and while political threads hasn't been specifically addressed previously, they have now.

As I've tried to state, this was done to continue to provide a place that allows for these discussions and doesn't put our forum at risk. If we lose the ability to have the HCF.org domain hosted, not only will we not have a place for politics, we won't have a forum at all.

Bull,

Thanks for the response, if the standard is this (as you posted) "
  • If your thread isn't about cars, or some funny cow slipping on the ice, or cat slapping a printer, there's a good chance it's political.
    • Yes, there are topics about cars that are political, but they were about cars first, so they may be ok... may...
Was there consideration given that this standard may drive away more members then the members who complained, and may have the opposite effect than what is intended? I find that standard, as you stated, to be crazy talk on soo many levels, but again that is just my opinion. Again, thanks for the response, I just cannot believe it has come to this.

Yes, there was consideration given to the reaction, that's why it wasn't done much sooner than it was.

At the end of the day, the ONLY thing that has changed is where members can post political threads. And we reiterated that personal attacks were not acceptable.

It isn't anything more than that.

Both of those aren't political enough by themselves.

Nancy's picture could cause a thread to become political, but by itself it's just funny.
Well someone needs to teach that WM to salute cuz that shit ain't gettin' it.

Well I can not say I didn’t expect this. Once again we cower and bend the knee for the liberal socialist who want to ruin this great country that many of us fought for and great brothers in arms lost their life for.
I will die before I bend the knee to those SOB’s. With that I’m out of here.
Only took 38 posts to politicize a thread asking to limit political posts to the "Anything Goes" forum

From the tip of your finger to your elbow shall be a single straight line or plane. Your fingers will either touch the tip of your brow or rim of your cover.

(no bends, arcs or kinks)

Your upper arm shall extent straight out from your body, which shall remain at the position of Attention.

We used to practice in front of a mirror and create muscle memory.

Nothing pisses me off more than a sloppy salute...

Either that or "'Former' Marine"...

Every time I hear that on TV I want to jump through the screen and kick the shit out of some ignorant TV Producer.

Actually on "Forged In Fire" Wednesday night, a Marine was on there competing and used the term himself. I only didn't disown him because he probably got coerced by the Producers to use the term, but he should have flat out refused.

Bull,

The statement below is a no go for me. I will just focus on other things, we can agree to disagree regarding the statement "It isn't anything more than that".

I left the other forum for the similar policies, it is 2021, censorship and pc are main stream, I don't subscribe to either.

LOL @BULL, I'm bad about saying "I was a Marine" when people ask about military service. I almost got strung up at a vet auction when I did that LOL.

Nudists believe in certain things as well, but they usually don't walk down public streets nude either. They respect the rules.

There's a time and place for everything, we've simply said that if you're posting "political" topics on this forum, they go in a certain place. Exactly in the same way that things "For Sale" go in the Marketplace and "Off topic" humor threads go in Off Topic.
