The ET Street R front may say DOT, but I will not be daily driving with them on the car.
In a perfect world I would have another pair of the Billet Specialty's wheels and M/T SR's mounted up.

Has nothing to do with daily, more of they are class legal

So, as far as I can tell, No license, but you do need a SA helmet and the 3-2A/5 jacket, Pants and the neck collar. On the helmet they do not specify if it needs to be full face or not. I am assuming, yes, but maybe not. Like many others my Helmet goes out of Date on Jan 1. And I just bought a new open face. So I put it in the mail to return it (thankfully I still had the box etc.), and ordered a full face Helmet SA2020 rated. I already had the better jacket and neck collar. So I also ordered pants. I just want them off my back once and for all. I bugged NHRA's Glenn Gray about this when the Demons came out. He said they talked about changing the cage rule but the majority of the voting members were still against it. I guess a couple years later they are coming around.

A demon even with some Mods fits squarely into this. So cool they finally had enough data to allow these changes.

I forgot to mention the DOT tire requirement. I guess with these heavy cars running so fast they want a sturdy tire on the car. I am not entirely sure what I am going to do about this. I like the Hoosier race tires for setting personal bests. And they ARE light weight and thin etc. But there are plenty of Hellcats running them. Not sure how unsafe they are for track only. But I really don't want 4 sets of wheels and tires for this car. Ugh.........

IHRA did post a license is required. Nhra obviously is a different set of rules
The dot tire thing still surprises me. A stock tire hellcat is more dangerous than a Slick.

A couple thoughts. The now reported 145 mph limit doesn’t really match the 9.0 second ET. You can’t go 9 flat with a 145 trap. It takes 150+ to do that in the heavier cars like ours. 145 finish line speeds will result in something closer to 9.4/9.5 ET’s. I will be very surprised if when the official NHRA version of this comes out they don’t require the Comp License. Everybody else running 9.9 at 135+ has to have it and I don’t see how they can make an exception for the year of the car. I am absolutely sure the helmet will have to be full face, as the neck protection device required will be the SFI donut, and that needs the full face helmet to be of any value because the bottom of the helmet rests on that pad all the way around. The Hans and other helmet restraint devices require shoulder harnesses to work and without a cage (or at least a harness bar) you don’t have those.

Still nothing that I can find. Maybe they are going to discuss and make a vote on a final version with a more realistic Speed limit etc.

OK, I heard this is going to happen at NHRA and the Announcement/Revision will likely be this coming week. Maybe next. I would say my source is very reliable. I can't wait to see the actual text of this rule. It's going to be very interesting.

I got my license , full face helmet and pants and still need gloves. The license was processed right away with a PDF temp sent by email and the physical one came in a couple weeks.

Well it’s official. NHRA finally put it in writing. 2014 and later with all OE safety systems (antilock brakes, Airbags, belts) functional, and you have the NHRA competition license, -5 SFI suit and Snell helmet…. You’re good to go 9.0 and up to 150 mph. The car has to be street legal (meaning current tags and insurance with DOT tires. Mods as far as engine/drivetrain and suspension are not restricted. There is going to be a NHRA issued sticker that will identify the car as good for 9.0 during tech inspection as long as those boxes are checked.

Not surprised. The date on it is 12/8/21 so they must have been waiting to release it to the public

Yea, it popped up on the racer site just today - maybe the lawyers were blessing it since 12/8.

Compared to TNT?
I know the NMCA will make sure you are legal. They said last year you were allowed one hit faster then what you were allowed to go. Thinking there will be more cars in the 9's this year
