One of the coolest looking race cars ever, imo.

When I was pre-driving, we used to go to a spot where the local guys would test their cars. A local guy had a Cheetah with a two-fours, 409, 4-speed one. It was silly fast. He was always in trouble with the locals...but just kept getting cool and fast cars. He bought a 70-71 Nova with a 427/4-speed, roller cam, tunnel-ram, and huge tires. He bought it from Mark Farner. It was called "The Pusher".

Stacey David did an excellent series on the Cheetah. Stacey played a large part of my Saturday mornings for many years.

Power to weight ratio, best and easiest go fast solution. Of course getting all that power to the ground is the challenge. But if done right the rewards are worth the effort.

Race versions were 1400 lbs and a bit over 500hp. 50/50 weight distribution and they looked so damn cool. Too bad the production number rule change killed it (and the exhaust headers fried the driver’s feet).
