Dang. Whoda thunk that of all things it would be the eTorque system that leads to the world's collapse?
And Putin thinks he's king of the world! And all it took was an underpaid rookie H1B and a line of code! :ROFLMAO:

I have been researching the 8/80 warranty on the eTorque and it appears that no one can find any document on the battery pack warranty. The Ram forums talk about verbal statements by dealers and Mopar Customer Service. Some say it is part of the emissions, but there are claims dealers are not honoring that because it is not actually part of the emissions. Speculation is Mopar is looking for plausible deniability.

I contacted the dealer and waiting for a response. I chatted with Customer Service and he said he could not find any power pack warranty information and told me to contact the dealer. I asked him if I could escalate the request for information and he abruptly ended the chat.

I called Ram customer service and asked, and the rep took about 10min to research it and came back and said it was an electrical component covered under the basic 3/36 warranty.

Not liking how this is looking.

Maybe I'm oversimplifying this...but 5 pages of back and forth?

Get it. If you don't like it...flip it like you said at the outset. Like it? Keep it.

If the dealer were local, certainly.

It is with Koons so fly down, overnight, drive back 600mi, lose 2 days income. And privately selling a $50+k used vehicle is not as easy as selling a $10k vehicle. Doable, probably make a little, might not be worth it, I'll run the numbers.

5 pages, not if you skip the banter! ;)

Two days?? You should be able to get that done in one day, even if driving both ways.

That is an option, but don't like paying for something that many were led to believe was included. I have found more than one non-Mopar website that says it is covered under the 8/80 Fed Emissions Warranty but I cannot find anything from Mopar. This deal just keeps getting worse. I'll look at the pricing, thanks.

Sure, and when I was young I'd take a 6am from Boston to Seattle, work almost a full day then take the redeye back. Too old to do that crap anymore.

Secondary battery is indeed warrantied for 8 yrs.
Also not sure about the Ram but our ‘23 Wrangler Rubicon XR couldnt have been ordered without the e-torque with the 3.6 at all.
As an aside we ordered it through Koons as well. We’ll never go back. Finance guy was a total con artist trying to use mega high pressure upsell tactics. Had to threaten him with canceling the purchase to get him to stop. Extremely confrontational, raised voice, questioning why we wouldnt buy the extended warranty, trying to sell us GAP which we literally could never use due to our downpayment amount, basically calling us cheap because we went there for the below invoice deal but wouldnt buy the add ons. Ruined the whole experience for my wife. She’d never purchased a new vehicle before and the Jeep is for her.
Never again. Rant over.

I think all auto 3.6 Jeeps have the e-torque deal.
Only ones that do not are the manuals. Not sure.
I have a manual Mojave but it does have the auto start/stop feature.

This is good news, as I have said, I cannot find any Mopar document to confirm this, nor can I reach anyone at Mopar that will even tell me this.

If you have any Mopar documentation or link at all that confirms this please forward it. Thanks! :)

I hate having to turn it off everytime I get in my truck. I'm hoping I can disable it permanently through software.
I thought you had a Ford?

Was that a mistype? Manual and Auto Start/Stop?

I do, and it has that stupid, awful, horrible, auto start/stop too. I'm planning to do some software changes to the truck in the next few weeks and I should be able to disable the auto start/stop then. I hate that thing.

I just found on a Ram forum someone posted the 2021 Warranty booklet saying the battery pack is covered. Another poster attached the same warranty info for the 22, and the battery pack is ostensivly absent from covered items. Hmmmm.
It’s covered.
