The 376 version is a regular Hellcat tuned to run on e85.
Doesn't have to pass emissions.

Price it right and they will sell a boat load of them.

Which again, things like this fly in the face of "engine plant no longer making Hellcats" comments you hear on FB.

If I don't end up with a #7 (unlikely), at least I have a shot at that aluminum block 426!
I am starting to shop for 18 and 19 widebody Hellcats with the thought of either a Whipple 3.0 or the DC package.
make 1000+whp and build the car myself for the delta in price from used to new.

No average person is touching car #7 unless they build atleast 2k of them.

Interesting. Article says they're not standard Redeye engines but have upgraded valve trains, rods, pistons, and a fluid crank dampener. I'd like to know the specs on the rods and pistons and valve train stuff.

I've now seen a second report that whatever this #7 car is will have an electric supercharger. I hope that's just people trying to throw everyone off. If it does in fact have an electric supercharger I have ZERO interest. It's like c'mon quit trying so hard on this electric BS and stick with what works. Trying to do an electric supercharger will be much more complex and God help you trying to work on it down the road. If you wanna do something different just to say you did put twin turbos on it.

A few years back when the 5th Gen Rams came out and had the e-Torque, I was all set to buy one until I decided to look under the hood and see this giant box in place of the alternator.

I asked WTF is that. Salesman came back and said that is the e-torque. And went on to vaguely explain what it did etc.
I asked how much it was to replace it. And now the guy goes well, its under warranty so. At this point I had owned my current Ram for 6 years and closing in on 100k. Keeping trucks is something I do.
Told him - price that part out for me. If it costs around 10% of an alternator, i'll sign on the dotted line.
Long pause.
He disappears
Im on my phone and chatting with the wife.
Comes back 20 minutes later saying that individual part is about $2200. We walked.

I get what they are trying to do. But I don't want it.

I also don't get how it can be an electric blower. That would require tapping a power source and an upgraded electrical system etc. For a car that has been on sale since 2009 and the Hellcats since 2014, that seems to be a lot of R&D money for 500 cars plus crate engines. I'm not buying it.

^^^^^ Agree. With Tim & Co. scraping the bottom of the shelves and barrels for stickers and graphics before the last person out turns the lights off, I cannot see how they would entertain doing any significant messing with the existing certified powertrain or available variants that might just need a final test or two to fend off the treehuggers. I will take my crow medium-rare if this electric blower is anything other than internet smoke & mirrors.

I don't know what the price is of those Hellephants but I'd like to have one. It would be nice if Dodge sold them as a package with the engine, trans, electronics so you could do a drop and go.

Probably be close to $30k or more.
my guess...a tad over 40

Exactly.

And the reason the average Joe can't just go buy stuff from the DC catalog anymore and throw a few hundred bucks at their car and make it faster.

I'd bet they want $20k just for the engine, if not more.

I will buy 1 for $20K. That's a bargain.

I don't think I'd consider you the "average Joe".

If that engine is $20k or more by itself, that's not a bargain for the average guy making less than $100k per year with normal bills and a mortgage.

I went to the convenience store and got a bunch of fried chicken for free with points I had built up.
