When cops were able yell, “Stop or I’ll shoot,” fleeing perps (on foot) stopped. Would eliminate all kinds of difficult situations.

Throwing a spike belt I assume, probably already fleeing from an attempted arrest/being pulled over.
I thought the same, attempting to throw a spike strip at the hellcat.. it’s probably a stolen vehicle

First, the cop will never make that dumb ass mistake again and second, you can not fix stupid.

I too have to question just what the hell that cop was doing standing (squatting ?) like that in the middle of a hwy travel lane.
It appears to be some sort of speed trap as there is a long line of cars already on the shoulder ?

Perhaps he was waving over the cars snagged by the trap, but why the squat - cowboy cop ??

That said, the dude in the Cat does seems to swerve & clip the cop on purpose - gotta wonder if the Cat was stolen and/or the dude had warrants and didn't want to be arrested. Clearly not a Mensa candidate pulling into a grocery store to pick up snacks just down the road

He was trying to deploy a spike strip at the last second so it couldn't be avoided. Whether the idiot swerved just to avoid the strip, or to intentionally hit the cop, or both will be the subject of much legal wrangling at his trial I'm sure.
