Where'd you get the DA info Marc? I found some of the apps were WAY off based on weather information I found and entered on air density online. I'm wondering of some of the apps were using far off weather stations, or weren't including baro for some reason. My slips were all 3700 - 4300 Saturday according to the info I had about the conditions.
I was just using the iPhone app so it was probably way off. It had cooled down to comfortable, but the humidity was still dripping and I know that has a huge effect on DA. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was actually much higher than that. It certainly wasn’t lower. That app was showing 2600’ during the day so if others were seeing near 4000 then it is not taking baro into account. I know all that water is replacing O2 so it wasn’t good for the best performance. Everybody was off on performance as would be expected so I guess that means that 8.90 @ 155 is too. We’re going to get this thing ready for Atco with a little more boost and some fine tuning and see what she’ll do when there’s actually some air.

Marc you are heading to Atco in Nov?
Well then I will have to make an effort to go. Seeing as how you will be on my side of the country.

I have been questioning the DA numbers for awhile now.
The track timeslip app you had at the event is the same as we use here. It was developed here with the help of the track owners.
Unfortunately the da info on the app is always different from the TRC app or Air Density Online app.
I had numbers from 1700 to 2850 from the 3 apps. Air density online seams to be the closest to hpindy's kestrel but still off by about 4-700' low.
On Saturday it was also off almost 20f low at the time of the 2800' reading.
I just received a kestrel 5100 and will be comparing on the weekend.
I find it frustrating that da is used as a measurement to judge performance. And the info is all over the place.

Last Saturday my car ran 10.82 with a best of 10.78. Not really anything special at 1700' da. At 2800' or possibly 3400'+ it actually isn't bad considering.

On a side note. I will gladly keep my winters up here. But you southerners had better keep your 100+f down where they belong. Especially in June. 2 weeks ago I had to wear my fire jacket to stay warm. The next weekend it was in the 70's. So sweating weather.
The 85-102f last Saturday can kiss my butt. I felt like 🤢💩.

Yep. That’s the plan. I just did the 2000 mile drive to Kentucky and was talking about what a long trip that was. Brandon Wilkenson called me a pussy cause he does that every day. 😂

I've been wondering the same thing for a while , why are these DA #'s so far off between the different apps. ?
I always use the ADO app to stay consistent with my pass #'s , but a buddy uses the tracks app that is usually 200 > 600 DA lower , its not too much diff. but its still frustrating not knowing which 1 is accurate.

So please let us (me) know what you find out with your Kestrel unit , which app (track app or ADO) is closest to being right. I think its the ADO but not sure ?

ADO looks to be the closest of the 3 I use as compared to hpindy's Kestrel.
In my post about last weekend there was a big discrepancy in temp which made me doubt how accurate that was even.
The ADO had 83-87f yet my car was reading 96f and another racer had a thermometer that read 40C so about 102F.
I would think a15-20f difference would effect the da to some extent.
I will let you know what I find if it doesn't rain all weekend.
Yesterday was a holiday here I should have gone to the track as it was cool out.

Yeah , it doesn't make since why there is that much difference.
I hope the ADO is most accurate cause that's the one I've used from day1.
Thanks for your feed back Jim.

There is one thing that I have been thinking. where is the weather info coming from?
Having a weather station at the track like the big time racers have would give us a more accurate reading on the track app one would think.

Yeah you would think but it doesn't seem like that.
