So let me get this straight. I am a dumbass and have no knowledge whatsoever of tuning. Are you guys saying I can now have a tune in my car without anyone knowing, not even the dealer?

I am also a dumbass and usually don't understand things like this. Forth grade was tough 4 me, but I believe that is what they are saying.

Again, according to Barth tuning Facebook,
"no they cannot view the tune. Dealers don’t have the ability to see inside a pcm. They only have the ability to run flash updates and detect hard codes present"

Flash count and checksum are a bitch sometimes.

Force them to dig hard enough and they will.

Alfa can read date/time of last flash I believe.

On the surface...the dealer won't be able to tell...but I can guarantee if you give them a good enough reason to find out they will.

Why does anyone care if the dealer can see it or not? Once you modify the car all bets are off if you're thinking you'll still have a warranty. Being able to flash a locked PCM is nice as the end user doesn't have to purchase a second PCM.

And @Maxboost is correct. Turning off the P1400 in your custom tune is a check box.

The assumption being that you did mechanical changes to go along with the tune...

But now there is a stealthy tune only approach?

What if I want them just to tweak mine for 93 octane and some holding on sixth gear longer? It gets tweaked for optimum performance on good gas, maybe even score the Demon tune for high octane for my Redeye? What dastardly and dishonest deed does that reveal? What have I done to damage the system?

The ho tuning for our redeye's won't be using the locked flash method.
Like I said there is another way to tune using the ho that the dealer can not see.

Dodging the 1400 is old news, no? Tuners claimed that they could do it but it was a moral conflict so they chose not to.
