That's the Demon in 808 mode... so unless you plan on racing the Demon without using it's racing settings, the S/S looks like a bargain.
Ron's Demon in 840 Drag Mode had better numbers, ones that I don't think will be matched by an S/S in similar conditions/weight.

Yeah but if you are going to throw a pulley and tune etc at it, then all bets are off.

A switch panel and a weird transbrake are not really deal breakers for me

If you're modding it, I would argue against even buying the S/S... Bang for your buck would come in the form of a base model HC which is $20,000+ cheaper than the S/S. That $20k gets you way out in front of the Demon and S/S from a performance perspective.

My point was that the performance of the S/S and the Demon are similar when compared with both in "808 Mode", which is what Ron did.
The Demon is still the faster car because there is more performance to be had in the "840 Mode", which isn't available in the S/S.

Simon, what does your car run? Are you still on the stock tune? I agree with you in that the best part about these cars are that they are amazingly quick and fast but are still a true GT. Nothing against anyone who turns them into more of an all out race car, that's what I would love to do to mine one day when my son gets older. We'll see if I still have it in 10 years...

The car runs a tune from Curt, similar to the blue car. It ran 9.4s on stock boost ( tune and injectors only) at just under 4600lbs. We made one small change to that along with some targeted weight management cause Curt's been on my ass for years to cut weight. We have yet to see how fast it is in its current form. I have been driving it alot on the street this week and enjoying the drive.

Very nice thank you, I’d say the supercharger whine is louder than any other stock challenger I have heard.
