I have had a frostbite RedEye on order for a few weeks now and it was delivered on 4-20-2020, of course. It took just under 7 weeks. I had a lot of ups and downs during the build, upfitter and train ride never knowing if the Coronavirus would hang it up somewhere or wether it would move like normal. Well I would say 7 weeks is great for a CA order.

I sold my Demon because I was disgusted and fed up with the Stock Demon group. So I needed to divorce myself from that whole deal. Make a big change and never look back. I was seriously considering buying a 2020 ONE SEAT Scat Pack 1320. It just so happened on the day I went to order there was a glitch in the system so I ordered a RedEye instead. Good thing too, because the RedEye was built and shipped and I am pretty sure no 1320s were scheduled to be built yet. So I would have been waiting MONTHS due to Coronavirus.

My plan for this car is to go as fast as I can with reasonable and tactful weight reduction. Also weight reduction that is affordable. So that will leave out things like lightweight brake rotors (unless I get a sponsor). I want them real bad but the reduction to cost ratio is not that good. I am hoping for high 9's in substantially negative DA. I honestly do not think this car will be as light as my Demon was but many of the RedEyes have put up very good times for what they were at the time. So we will see if my car can further that trend.

I ordered a Base RedEye.
Frostbite.
3.09 gears.
SRT Performance Spoiler.
Rear Seat Delete Group.

Mods planned:

Street Wheels/Tires : Forgestar F14 Drag Pack Gunmetal 18X5 and 17X10 with MT Sportsman SR 28X6.00R18LT and MT ET STREET R 315/50R17

Race Wheels/Tires : BS Win Lite Drag Pack 18X5 and 17X10 with Hoosier Drag Front 28X4.5-18 and Hoosier Drag Bracket Radial 28/10.5R17

Remove Pass seat & Drivers seat and replace Driver with Corbeau FX1 Pro seat and install Air Bag warnig Light Bypass Harnesses both sides.

Drain Windshield Washer Reservoir and install low level warning light bypass plug.

Install Demon Race/Crate Air filter (I know someone that can get these restricted parts LOL).

SW Mid Pipes.

Remove Sway Bar.

Light Weight Braille Battery i49CE ( I already had this from the Demon).

Pass Mirror Delete.

One thing I have never done with any of my modern 2009 and later Challengers (or 2010 Camaro SS or the 2014 Mustang 5.0 I had) is put in a Racing seat. I hope this looks OK when it is installed. It's ready to drop in as soon as the car arrives.

Like I said I am looking for the affordable and tactful weight reduction. The main reason is I do not plan on tuning the car any time soon, if ever, and I think it would be nice to run 10.0's most of the year. And, I think limited weight reduction will get me there. Tuning and that final possibility of losing the Warranty just makes the car less enjoyable for me.

My Experience with my Plumb Crazy 2016 Hellcat was I did all this stuff to it including tuning it etc. But then I de modded it except the ET STREET R's and 3.09's. Then I ran it like that for a while before I sold it and I had so much fun.

The Corbeau FX1 Pro SEAT by it's self is 20.4 pounds. I was not happy because right on their site it says 17.5 pounds. Not cool. The seat bracket with the dual locking sliders is 10.6 pounds (D721). I spent quite a bit of time lightening the seat bracket and I got it down to 9.6 pounds but might not do it again. Corbeau makes their own seat brackets that are a direct fit with dual locking sliders. One reason I went with Corbeau is so everything could come from one place and just bolt in. The seat belt buckle I got was from a Ram Truck center seat (1XE661X7AA) and it is quite a bit lighter than the OEM one from our Cars that would have the hall effect switch and be setup for a bucket seat. The seat bracket does in fact come with a provision to directly bolt in your stock seat belt buckle (shown).

Wheel & Tire porn.......

. FRONT RACE SETUP The Hoosier 28X4.5-18 race tire is 11.6 pounds. The Win Lite 18X5 Drag Pack wheel is a fantastic wheel. It fits the Hellcat direct bolt on and has 2.125 back space. The Win Lite 18X5 Drag Pack wheel is 14.7 pounds. My 18" front assembly with the center cap, valve stem, hub centric ring and 2.5 oz balance weight is exactly 27.0 pounds. 0404201358.jpg 0404201400.jpg .
.
REAR RACE SETUP 28X10.5R17 Hoosier Drag Bracket Radial is 24.3 pounds and the Drag Pack wheel is 18.0 pounds. It is about 1 pound heavier than the non drag pack wide body wheel that was on my Demon. The Drag Pack wheel is built different and designed to be direct fit with conical seats. The assembly ready to bolt on with TPMS, center cap, balance weights and hub centric ring is 43.6 pounds.

18X5 Front Wheel 18.6 pounds, MT Tire 25.4, Assembly with TPMS, 4 OZ Balance weight, center cap and hub centric ring is 45.2 pounds.

17X10 Rear Wheel 20.4, MT Tire 35.4, assembly with TPMS, hub centric ring, 9 OZ balance weight, center cap 57.0 pounds.

PASSENGER MIRROR DELETE P5160147AB

Pics like this are sometimes hard to come by. So, here you go.....

Changing this out is not that hard. I watched some YouTube videos and once you learn all the tricks it is not that hard. In fact I do not feel that anything is ruined or blemished by doing this if you are careful.

HUB RINGS TPMS and BALANCING the Forgestar 18X5 front F14 Drag Pack wheels.............Cake! These wheels have so much negative offset you have a nice place to put the weights and they clear by a mile. I just make sure the Tire Tech sets the spin balancer up for a simple or bubble balance so it is only asking for ONE place to add the weight (not adjusting for wobble). Should be the same or similar for the D5 wheels.

HUB RINGS AND BALANCING the Billet Specialties Win Lite Drag Pack 18X5 front wheels.

I had to separate each section of the balance weights and then carefully dress the edges on a belt sander and then stick them sideways one at a time on the small ledge just behind the spokes. Weights placed anywhere else on the rim will hit the caliper. I cleaned the wheel carefully to maximize the stick. I did have to remove one piece and it was stuck pretty good. I also placed masking tape over the weights and then tapped carefully all over the weights with a hammer to try and form them to the shape of the wheel and stick them better and then removed the tape. I just make sure the Tire Tech sets the spin balancer up for a simple or bubble balance so it is only asking for ONE place to add the weight (not adjusting for wobble).
