That's good news, I've heard the E85 cold start can be interesting. Warm weather wouldn't change a whole lot I wouldn't think, maybe higher E content vs winter.
Has to be tuned right for cold starts for sure.

Off and on the topic of off more on than that. Leaving town #2 I ran into a neighbor 3 doors down, great smoking songs. I saw a COPA 2019,,, official pace me car out my shine ass. But interesting was it was a vert ble. Him being 60 ish, not bad, impatiantient 25 old daughter, right. Was very interested into the H/C and we spoke till her boyfriend kept calling. The COPA, I have been friends with for 5 years. Doo too the only 6 intercooler based car tat could beat anything on a road course, except the Zephlin. That is when I figured the concept of the intercoolers and HP came to a head like at DD,s. Paint job looks pretty bad but instrument panel impressive. Not that makes his 25 year old /// sumtin look bad. Going to see the new C8 on Sunday. $58,000 with tires??

Do you know how much timing he got on the e85 and what lambda?
Hope you found that small leak if there was one.

Don't think there is a leak, everything has leveled off, still getting a smell once in awhile, I assume residual.

20,21,22 or so when I will be on summer blend. I'll have to log to see for sure. My tuner has no issue throwing more at it if we want to squeeze a tenth out of it at the track if we are close to a "number". My target AFR will be 11.0, we didn't set the AFR to read ethanol lambda. That would be .75 at WOT, I'll have to look when I take these blizzaks off.

Glad you did not have a leak. I am still on the 2 BAR MAP. Maybe I should talk to Tim to see if he wants me on the 3 BAR MAP. I went to run Friday night. But my friend accidentally stripped two studs on the rear so I could not run. What are friends for? I forgive him. Hey I should be changing my own wheels! I got them fixed yesterday.

Yes. He felt bad and was running around to auto part stores for me when I was at the track. All fixed up with help of Firestone.

.75 lambda is 10.38 AFR right? I target .83 at least for gasoline so far.

I know it's different for e85, but my AFR will "read" like its reading gas, so I'm targeting 11.0 at WOT.

I still get confused on stoich vs AFR vs lambda for different fuels. I've started thinking in Lambda these days so it's all the same. .83 lambda is .83 lambda regardless of fuel used.

Yea, I know dusterhoff changes the AFR to read ethanol AFR vs 93 afr. So those guys would potentially see in the 7's at WOT.

Its weird at first...but lambda is the way to go.

After the curt tune I knew what to expect with the onboarding but it is kinda freaky watching it drop like a rock as the corn hits the system.

Another kinda jacked way I've done it on some bikes where the wideband didnt have settings for gas/e85/lambda is if the wideband is set to read gas AFR you already know what lambda is based off the math...in effect I've tuned straight E85 on the gas scale with good success this way at the track.

I know Tim with the onboard likes it in the 10.9 to 11.1 range. .78 to .80. Mine seems to run a little quicker at .8 to .82.

Yeah too much fuel robs power. I've found I like 11.5 through most of the rev range (.83 lambda) with a dip to 11.3 above 6200 RPM (.82 lambda) on 93 as a safety. Race fuel I run it a little leaner.

Update:

I had plans to install a bearing plate and do an apples to apples comparison, but after some drama which made me uneasy, I sourced a spare blower off eBay and sent it to Jokerz for his full race build.

I’m curious to see what it will do plug and play. It’s come out that most of the restriction in the blower is the bearing plate. I currently have a hand ported snout with a 105tb. Only change will be the new cnc snout, bearing plate, and blower.

Stay tooned
