What this country needs is a 6.4 1500!

I would not bother with the 392 Wrangler either. The 392 version is just something that Hellcat kind of guys buy to step into the Jeep world. The 3.6L Wrangler is the better and (much cheaper) way to go for sure. If you still crave more power then put the RIPP supercharger kit on it. I put the blower on mine and the extra 100HP was plenty to keep me interested, even when off the trails. If I wanna go fast I take the Hellcat. If I want a fun day in the mountains, or just to go get groceries the Jeep is the way to go.

Don't all the 392's have issues with cam oiling and wiping lobes eventually?
Never heard of that issue on the 392s
5.7 Hemi has the oiling issue with the lifters, but it's an easy enough fix, if you're willing to do it.
My 2013 Ram 5.7 lost two lifters and destroyed my cam at 187,000 miles (I bought it new) Did all the upgrade stuff and a tune and it is now at 245,000

Never driven one myself, but have read many reviews that shared a similar experience to what Speedy! had.

I'd try to rent one for at least a few days & see if it's what you really want. For me, even tho I love 'motor music', in some vehicles it gets to be too much & becomes irritating after a while. Add to that the intrinsic nosiness in the cabin & harsh ride and, well .................

The other thing is the (annoying AF) MDS on the 392 . It doesn't seem to bother some, but I came to hate it in the short time I had the DDSRT. Again, you need to experience it for a bit to see if it's intrusive given your driving habits & speed limits on local roads etc.
Need the HCDD, those don't have MDS;)

Everything ideologically about Jeeps is cool, everything about them in reality sucks LOL

My cousin has a 392 Wrangler, he goes off roading with it all the time and it is super fun and capable.

We dreamed about rides like these when we were kids, so cool to have them now!

Wife's 04 Wrangler was nearing the end of it's body life so I bought a 24 Wrangler M6, I absolutely hate it, everything is wrong but likely it's the gvt's fault. I like the idea of a 392 but new they are over $100k!?!??! WTF?!?!?

Durango is not an option, removing the roof for the summer is what makes the Wrangler all worthwhile.

You now having me thinking.....
I'm sorry you're not liking the Wrangler! That's not good  I wish there was something I could do to help.
Although the 392 MOAB Wrangler is now $79,995 instead of like $104k start
They dropped the price $20K which is a small step in the right direction.

Also, the GT Durango is available with the 5.7 for like $43 and the RT Durango with the 6.4 is coming soon at $49k
My wife wants to replace her Cherokee with another Durango (we had a 2018 GT V6), either the 392 or the HCDD, which is like $80.5k now

As a company, they really are trying to fix the last four years of crap, I can see it internally:love:

If you understand those facts, then you understand the whole Jeep thing! You should be in Toledo for the Jeep fest in August each year, there's thousands of Jeeps from all over the world here!
We put the wife's Wrangler in the All Jeep Parade every year, I wish they would add plant tours into the fest so people could see the build and assembly process.

Had 2 392 Rubicons. Frankly 2 to many doors. It's a SUV not a Jeep. Now have manual transmission, 4:88 gear 2 door Rubicon running on 35's. A proper Jeep! Way more fun even though it's only a V6! Ymmv.

I'm trying to wait for the '27 TRX to upgrade. I've been patient with my '19 Ram 1500 Classic (only 45K miles).
The price point of that Durango RT with a 392 and ordering banks opening next month is going to be difficult to avoid!!

I've tried several times to snag one of those, but the 100k+ price point is just too big a gulp for a Durango IMO.
In retrospect (that 20/20 hindsight is always the best ;)) should have just kept the '18 R/T and dropped a blower in it.
