Just put on new tires and replica wheels in the back. When I put my brakes on at high speeds, car vibrates. Like if it where out of balance or something.

Wondering if it is tire balance or dirt on pads/rotors? Never an issue until changed tires. Tires are Firehawk Indy 500's. Ideas?

Weird that you’re experiencing the same thing I am. New tires. Hard on the brakes from a high speed and the car shakes. I assumed it was the hot spots on my rotors and moved on. Tires don’t shake at all, feel great at speed, it’s only when I’m on the brakes that she shakes. Honestly, lower speeds with high brake pressure and she shakes. 30k on z26 pads. Stock rotors.

Could be several things

Tire and or wheel balance (wheels are new?)

Wheel mounting would be easy to check as well, check mounting surface for debris/rust, wire brush if required.

Might want to verify the lugs are torqued to spec. 111 ft. lbs.

Did you by chance do anything else while changing the wheels? New brakes, maybe tear down and clean up? Any chance you loosened anything?

This is where I would start. Also, did you tighten anything else when you had the wheels off? You don't want excessive torque on the wheel hub because that could be a cause. At this point I might try disassembling and reassembling everything to spec from the wheel hub out.

I did put on lowering springs front and back. New tires and new wheels in back only. Cant get to it until the weekend. Planned on taking to discount and having the wheels balanced again. The will torque the wheels back on correctly.

It feels like its coming from the back wheels. The front steering wheel is smooth as glass.

Ok, that’s very different than mine, the steering wheel tries to rip from your hands on hard braking.

As rude as it sounds, did the install with your springs go all well? No chance you might have had something slightly misplaced?

The install of the springs went well... after re-balancing the tires vibration went away. Like glass again.
