Been using it in my Jeep and the Challenger. Valvoline has been my other oil I have used for many years so when this came out switched to it

I’ve been a Mobil 1 guy for decades now. I run it in all my ice’s. Haven’t had a reason to switch just yet, but above looks good.

i’ve been using Valvoline full synthetic in all my vehicles for 30+ years now. every forerunner I’ve had had over 300,000 miles on it and it failed because of frame rot not engine or drive train issues. All Looked brand new inside. I use Valvoline restore and protect in everything now since it came out.

This is my previous 4Runner when I did head gaskets on it. It had just under 300,000 miles on it. It saw mostly highway mileage at high speed and a lot of WOT driving, it had no carbon in it at all lol it was this clean upon tearing it down, intake valves, piston crowns, cylinder chambers. Look at the cross hatching in the cylinders, like the day it was honed after 300k miles. This ran on Valvoline 10-30 Max Life Full Synthetic its whole life. Restore and Protect is even better now!

Really. Heard trans fluid in the engine does the same thing.

My friends dad did that one time back in the 80s. There was so much smoke someone called the fire department thinking there was a fire

Interesting to hear Valvoline recommended. Years back it was accused of sludge.

I use Penzoil Full Synthetc in all of ours. Used to use Penzoil Platinum but testing showed full synthetic was as good or better and like $22 for 5qt at Wally World. 4runner is at 170k miles and climbing.

High tier Pump 87 but I use Royal Purple max clean injector cleaner at double strength every 3rd or 4th tank as using it always gave me three or four MPG more when it was in the tank I don’t know why, but it’ll always did

Valvoline Restore and Protect we clean up those engine internals in three or four cycles. You’ll notice on drain your oil will be a reddish color and when that reddish color disappears, your engine is clean inside. For the first run of it don’t go above 2500 or 3000 miles or change the filter during the interval because if you cut the filter open, you will find a lot of sludge in it most likely. The stuff really works. I’ve seen videos where they’ve run engines constantly for months, and tore them down and tested them to test and perfect restore and protect, first formulations were actually too aggressive, and they tamed it down some because of the filter clogging issues in really dirty engines.

My last 3 vehicles, 04 GTO, 03 Silverado 5.3, 04 Wrangler, all went 145kmi+ on conventional oil. Only prob was the Wrangler had an occasional tick, the back 2 lifters had a reputation for getting gunked up. Changing to synthetic fixed that.

It is nice to see companies developing super oils but I cannot imagine any circumstance where anyone would see a difference in normal driving for 150kmi. Especially when lunitics like us change every 3kmi.

My current favorite is Mobil 1 0w40 for $28/5q at WM and AMZN. I figure for the new truck and Wrangler, they should be fine for the rest of my life.

Back in the day, friend had a late 70's (79 I think) Pontiac, the subject of oil changes came up and he said he hadn't changed in 10kmi or so. I strongly urged him to get it done.

Couple weeks later he said he got it changed, and said, "I'm embarrassed to say, it had been 46,000 mi since the last change".

Daily drivers can go a very long way as long as they have fluids, air, brakes, etc. Unfortunately that is too much to ask from many owners.

Next we need to discuss coolant flush! Some people say every 2 years, I say change once, somewhere between 5 and 10y!

Let's not go into trans fluid...

You might not ever have to change oil for the rest of yer life....(after all yer closer to the end...than the beggining.. )
