Newbie to the Challengers and obviously the forum. I got all I could out of my 5.7 GC and wanted more. In comes my new to me 2019 Scat Pack WB. The 6.4 is scary fun! I’ve seen enough stolen HCats and SRT’s out runs cop videos here in TX that I want to do a kill switch. I’ve seen all the starter kill BCM posts. I want to cut the brake pedal feed that allows the transmission from coming out of gear if they manage to get in and clone a key. I installed one in my work truck and use it daily. Does anyone have wiring diagrams of the brake pedal wiring? I’d love to do a plug and play so I don’t have to cut any wires. If you know where to get the connectors/pins or pigtails, I’d be eternally grateful!

I thought about doing similar but I believe that the signal to remove from park is actually pressure activated vs off of the switch contacts. Interesting to see is Bob knows better but couldn't seem to get it to work.

Starting certainly is pressure based (or at least if not pressure, travel based), because I'm constantly being annoyed with not having pressed enough on the damn pedal.

However, once started, then maybe shifting becomes only "engaged" or not??

I'm not sure, because now I'm still standing on the freaking pedal from starting to make the shift out of park...??

I, for one, am wary of newbs asking security questions. While they may be legit, I am no longer inclined to provide information regarding security vulnerabilities of this platform.

I will assist menbers in long, good standing. However, there appears to be a LOT of Phishing, lately... by people walking in, off the street.

Can you pm me your thoughts about the 2022s and up, deciphering options to keep the car safe in bigger metro areas.

I have two kill switches. One to the on/off button and one to the starter. Both in seperate location. Simple. Took an hour to do both. Mo need to reinvent the wheel here.....

2022 had massive updates, just trying to figure out how the new update works and whether it's enough to combat 99% of thieves, car sits in a garage most of the time just don't wanna lose it in a city parking garage or at a mall for example.

Most kill switches inhibit the remote start function of the car which sucks when it's super hot or super cold.

I need a solution for my 2018 since I'm putting it back on the street.

My thought is this:

Trying to defeat a software vulnerability, with software... Well, that isn't going to work for long.

The vehicle needs hardened, hands on solutions.

Understood, what would you suggest? Just a kill switch or another layer of security on top of that too? Any workaround to retain remote start?

As long as you have remote start, your vehicle is vulnerable to remote attacks. The thieves know this and they exploit that "convenience".

A kill switch is the best way, to prevent these exploits. Now... what you kill, is another thing, altogether.

Agree with the kill switch approach, and retaining remote start for the owner to still use. Understood this is an older thread, but there is an option to add another deterrence layer in getting your vehicle stolen HERE on this forum now.

Hope this helps someone.

I just kill my RF Hub, with a thingy.

No remote start, but it works. Go ahead. Copy my FOBIK. Shit is locked out, until I say it isn't.

Also, MOPARs solution of fixing a software problem, with more software just doesn't sit well, with me.

No its not. I have a remote starter it works fine with my kill switch. One has nothing to do with the other. If one wants MORE security then a second kill switch to the starter is recommended and then the car wont start at all but the reality is ppl dont want to lose their ability to start their car when its cold so a single kill switch to the ignition is all thats required 99% of the time.

Some ppl DD their Dodge so starting it when its cold is a great thing especially when u live in New England AKA Alaska smh.

Remote attacks occur when key fobs codes are being stolen thru the air. Remote starter has nothing to do with that. Theives dont hack into remote starters they hack into ur abilty to activate the ignition. No ignition to start.

For me if I would rarely activate both kill switches but for added security I would activate both at times but I like most others I wanted to remote start my car to warm it up winter or summer.

As long as you have remote start, your vehicle is vulnerable to remote attacks.
