I was really happy when the scat pack stripe became an option on the 2022 Challenger Redeye Jailbreak - I've always thought it had a nice, retro vibe. It's subtle on our car because its a black stripe on a dark car - but we like how it turned out. When our car arrived June 2022 we noticed that the decal installation left a bit to be desired with one of the end pieces being sightly askew. But it was minor so we left it alone. A few months later, however, we noticed what looked like "fading" on the stripes. Now its gotten considerably worse. When new, the car was taken to a respected detail shop which specializes in XPEL. That product was used in a few areas but not on the rear stripe. The entire vehicle was ceramic coated. The car sat in storage for months over winter. It hasn't been washed much - and we are super careful when it does get washed. No harsh chemicals.

Stellantis has denied a warranty claim. Anyone else experience this fading?

It is our intention to contact Stellantis and follow this up... just wondering if there is any case history of similar incidents. :)

Allergic reaction to that Ferd dealership next door ?? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

But seriously, it looks like it was rubbed/scrubbed too vigorously in that area or the ceramic coating is lifting/reacting to the vinyl.
Have you tried applying a bit of quick detailer (or 'Reload' type product) on a bit of it to see if it gets darker ?
The ceramic should have sealed it, so it seems odd it would fade or rub off.

This may help:

Looks like it went through a pay carwash or two? Either that or it sat in the sun with something that got baked into the stripes? You cannot clean them with any cleaners or rub them too hard without possibility of hurting them. Cleaning bugs or tree sap off of them can be problematic.

I use "reload" on my car and it's stripes. It's a 18 and in FL. Still looking great.

His stripes are not carbon fiber stripes. I think the material is different? I just hand wash my 2021 Trail Hawk with car soap and water and the hood stripes have no sign of fading. They are probably the same kind of decal material as the tail stripes. IMG_6105.jpeg

They're all made out of the same crap.
They are vinyl but also have a texture.

I believe they are all the same 3M vinyl (1080 wrap material). Comes in a ton of colors and some (mostly the CF colors) are 'textured'.
Most ceramic coatings seem to play well with the material as does 303 Protectant but most wax products streak or turn white or strip the surface.
Any kind of aggressive rubbing (even with a MF cloth) or harsh chemicals are an absolute no no !

It has been through a couple touchless car washes

On our 2019 Redeye we had the Carbon Fibre stripes and they were replaced under warranty because of markings that would not come off. But the marks were completely different.

Car washes have chemicals in their water. Also, the car wash water is typically required to be recycled to save water and I do not think it is the cleanest water. I am convinced that going through the car wash was a reason for my black spoiler and hood stripes fading on my 2013 Daytona after only going through a few times one Winter. It’s not always convenient but that is why I only hand wash my vehicles now.

Stoner Trim Shine will have it looking like new. I use it once a month on all of the black trim on the TRX.
