Not sure why they updated this story from last year? Maybe cause of actual price? As you can see by the trees, the shots were taken last fall at 131 drag strip
Now for the sad part of this story.... back when the “2020” Drag Pak was released for order over a year ago there was much fanfare and little actual info. Racers and slimy speculators got their applications in. I have a friend (racer) who was one of them. He was dying to get one to race. Then... nothing for all this time. The rumor was that they were never going to be built. Then out of the blue two weeks ago...... a phone call from SRT. They are in fact being built and your name us on the list... do you still want it? He was told there was a total of seventy on the list and they were checking to determine how many still wanted one and they were looking for racers and not collector/speculators. He was told that they would get back to him with purchasing info by the first of sept. Then today... THIS. I called and told him he better get back to SRT and find out what was going on. What’s going on is some high up crapbag at Fiat decided that another round of media hype was more important than honoring the commitment to the racers waiting to get one of these for over a year now. He was told that he could try to be one of the first 50 to make contact along with everybody else when the time to do that is announced. “Good luck”.
On the subject of the car and not Corporate’s jerk around way if doing business....... look at the engine setback on these things! They had to cut the plastic trim to make a space for the rear of the supercharger. And it’s a front intake! This thing is one serious race car!
Maybe I am looking at it wrong but I see the ice tank lines coming in the front and the air intake wrapping around to the rear (windshield) side of the blower. Is the size of the supercharger known?

Look how close the rear of the sc is to the actual firewall. I’m wondering if they reshaped the firewall to move the engine back that far. This is one serious effort to be competitive in the FS classes.
Not to sure they could produce many more of these. I see where they are coming out of Watson Engineering now. They are the people making the Cobra Jets. Those things are running 7.5’s at 185 mph now and this Challenger is being built by them to do the same thing. I would love to have one but the divorce would take it right back away from me. ☹️
