I had a little bit of fun with @DGatzby at Brainerd last week. We did a track day with our local Corvette owners group. Here's a video of a part of Session 2. I catch up with @DGatzby at around 7 minutes into the video.

How do you get the instrumentation to come up on the actual video? Does it come through bluetooth from the car?

Sorry for the newb question, I've never done anything like that but saw it in your video also and am curious how it works.

There are multiple ways of doing it. I used to use an OBDLinkLX that was wifi connected to my phone that ran Track Addict. I now use an AIMSolo2DL and don't need a phone app or any wifi connections or separate GPS.
Once I have the videos and data file I bring it into Race Render to sync everything up and create the video.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking that there was a way to pull the live data right from Uconnect and onto the video through usb or bluetooth. I figured that there had to be some sort of additonal software to bring it all together.

Looks like you had a good time.

You need this (or equivalent)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JFRFJG6

A good phone mount (emphasis on GOOD) and assuming you have a good phone too, Galaxy S9 is a good candidate.

Download Trackaddict for your phone

Go racing!

Cool, thanks! I actually have one of those already that I bought to do some programming changes on my truck after I switched it to the bigger fuel tank. Didin't even think about using it for something like this.

Ahhh...the miracles of modern technology.

Nice. Fun to watch. What's the matter, you guys didn't think you could hold 140 into that turn at the end of straight? :)

120 yes, we were braking too much. 130 maybe, if I was ok with wrecking the car when something small went wrong. I'm not.

I know. This was my first event where I took out track day insurance. A friend of mine pushed it a little hard in the Kink at Road America about 4 weeks ago. He got 2 tires off on the berm and it upset the car. He ended up doing a 180 and hitting the wall on the passenger side. Totalled his SS 1LE. It was also the first time he took out track day insurance. I still had that in my head last week and was a little slow because of it on 3 of the turns.
On a positive note I had awesome brakes and have my setup nailed for every track but Road America.

Glad he was okay, and glad you didn't need yours. A friend of mine long ago totaled his pride and joy at the track without insurance. Walking away is most important, but damn if that doesn't bring home to us how much our hobbies just might cost us.

Kinda got into a push to shove yesterday evening with a black 396 on US 19 Clearwater. I was doing very well till he starting hitting the brakes in a weird manner and changing lanes,, weird ways. US 19 at 7:45 10 lanes. Just about hit him twice in and out of a small amount of traffic. I was running my radar - scrambler so not a problem there. After passing this guy 1 more time at 140, I was passed by a Clearwater Police SUV with no lights or detector on. Can't trust em all. I was at 140 and this SUV came around me like a Booze Got Tee. Been in the new- old hood for 2 months and got my 1 st threat from the HOA about the noise, I call great sounds, coming out of my garage when I start the H/C.

The Boo Got Tee,,, I am sure. What was an SUV Clearwater Poles Ice doing running those kinda speeds??? He could have gotten 2 of us for reckless driving amonst other things.

This is an interesting video. Is that Gatzbys old car? Looks like that cat is able to carry more speed into the corner, and the sheer power of the redeye just walks away after the apex and through the exit. Two awesome cars, doing what they do best. And some very good driving.
