Also the AWD system. ~240 lbs.

Hurricane + AWD ~ 740 lbs
Hellcat ~ 850 lbs
So you’re thinking the Hellcat Charger won’t have AWD? Or am I reading that wrong.

Now that you mention it, it is possible for the STLA to house AWD.

AWD Hellcat that you could divert all power to RWD with a button. That's possible.

That’s what I’m thinking.

Unfortunately the Hurricane Charger is 4800lbs and the Hellcat engine, supercharger, assorted coolers and plumbing is 350lbs heavier than the Hurricane.

So unless Dodge has something else up their sleeve the Hellcat Charger could be 5150lbs. :cautious:

Around the same weight as a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 6.1L AWD but with double the HP.

There are some places to shave off weight (e.g. wheels, rotors, carbon fiber hood).

The Hurricane doesn’t have any turbos, assorted coolers, or plumbing?
No way it’s +350, right?

I just said those things about the Hellcat so people will realize why it’s so heavy.

The 5.7/6.4 is only 100lbs heavier than the Hurricane.

Iron Block V engines are heavy with two banks. Since the Hemi is now going to be around for a while they really need an aluminum block like everyone else has been doing for 20 years.

Hellephant A30 and A170 would be that answer.

Does the HC weigh 350lbs more than the Hurricane?
That’s what I’m struggling with. Mentioning coolers and whatnot to justify the weight differences threw me off, for sure, but the 350lbs is what made me seriously question the post.

I agree with you. It doesn’t seem possible but those are the numbers I have found in several different places.

Forget about the Hurricane for a minute. Most listed weights show the Hellcat as 250lbs heavier than the 5.7/6.4. To me that is also hard to believe. I wish we knew for sure.

Here is a fully dressed (minus manifolds) Hellcat engine - https://youtube.com/shorts/RnmnoPyb0G8?si=nEBlLBE3MqjQZH9h
683lbs.
According to the internet (can't find someone weighing it) a fully dressed Hurricane is 440lbs.
The intercooler is integrated with the intake on the Hurricane, not unlike the intercooler bricks in the IHI. The turbos are integrated with the exhaust, not unlike the supercharger sitting on top of the 6.2. Accessories and cooling duties between the 2 are damn near identical as far as hardware is concerned.

In the 1 case where they've already swapped between the Hellcat and Hurricane drivetrains (TRX > RHO) RAM said 180lbs.
"However, Ram notes that the RHO weighs 150 pounds less than the TRX and 180 pounds less up front, so company engineers retuned the dampers and suspension for the difference in weight and better overall weight balance."
2025 Ram 1500 RHO, 2025 Defender Octa: Car News Headlines

I can't say for certain, I don't have either of them, but I'd argue that there is ~200lbs between them.
I don't have a dog in this fight, the new Charger is pretty ugly and I'm not a potential buyer.
