He also snuck into Sick Summer 2025!

Byron, Cordova, GLD, & Tri-State. June 15th - 20th.

Tentatively doing DYO but may cut it loose and run in Heavy Metal. Undecided on that. If I could cut about 500lbs out and/or gain another 100hp somewhere there's a shot to place. 3rd went to a challenger that went 9.50's this year.

Either way. Hard part is done. Come find the purple turd!

Theres probably 20 different events that you can enter now.

How many "Sicks" are there now?
Death week and 66 were one time only.

This year they're adding sick smokies and sick Michigan miles...which looks like just a bigger version of Drop The Hammer. I don't see them maintaining this pace for long especially with picking up the NMCA events for 2025.

I fully intended to try for Mega Week but can't exactly take the entire month of June off. Someone at the office might fuss a little too much.

I bought a tech card for it and never used it. They said I could use it at a future event. I couldn’t make it last year.

I think it runs Wednesday till Sunday with 2 tracks in 1 day.

If they eliminate Hot Rod and Hot Rod Magazine altogether then yes. I'd assume no more official HRDW.

Right at about 30 days out or so from Sick Summer 2025 and due to weather car has only been out ONCE with no track outings.

Cutting it close eh?

Gonna try to use sick summer as a benchmark test for HRDW2025 - I'll be running DYO and shooting for 10.0 to get ready for another run at Street Machine Eliminator this year. I qualified 5th for the 32 car final field last year and went out in round 1. That was a 10.2296 average and I ran a 2.79 pulley on E85 to get there. This year we grabbed a 2.65 to try which should shave off another tenth or so in similar conditions. Car runs mid/high 9.80's on a 2.50

My other option was heavy metal and gunning for 9.50's - would've probably done 15" rears, drag springs and minor tweaks to get there but I'm glad I didn't as I have had ZERO time to proof out that setup this year so far. Weather has been absolute ass.

I've also sold the 1997 cobra I picked up to a close friend and stashed that money away with that from a small 401k I ditched. There's plans. Not quite sure how wild but it probably involves a non-factory shortblock, hellion feeding it and Sipple behind it since Whipple still can't get their shit straight and I'm not spending over 8 large on a Kong 2650 to run out of steam at 1250.

Kong definitely isn’t worth it. Do 3.8 with bigger brick, cut a hole in the hood, and send it
I'm also not ok with spending 8k+ on a 3.8 to maybe have it die before the dyno tuning is complete. The Gen 6 hasn't improved that mess either. I'll do oil changes twice a year but I'll be damned if I change my blower twice a year too.

Whippe on a F150? Good.
Whipple on a Mustang? Good.
Whipple on a Camaro/Corvette? Good.

What is it about THIS casting that makes them a complete dumpsterfire? Who knows. But I don't want any part of it.

Pshh takes 30 minutes to pull and install a blower lol, just put water in instead of coolant just in case! Have spent a small fortune in coolant and have a bunch of buckets of used premixed 10 year
