FYI the online Chilton manual says in order to replace the exhaust headers to pull the heads off. Would cost you a head gasket and an intake gasket, but time-wise might actually be quicker. Probably much less frustrating for sure--might also make dealing with clearance issues easier. The downside is how many more mating surfaces you'd have to clean... which is arguably the suckiest part.

No way I’d pull the heads just so do these and then have to deal with cleaning them, especially at this mileage. Just asking for trouble. They are TIGHT. I have 3/4” at least on the driver side. If I have to I’ll jack the cradle over a little and get an alignment. Car gets finished this weekend.

It wasn’t really 8, like 3 or 4 times. Went back to stock gaskets, gained more room after speak with HHP

Still, that sucks. They ain't easy to just put in and take out. Not sure where you get the energy.

Bolts are a bit easier (not by much, but a bit) on the new headers
