Looking around on the Black Friday sales I found Lethal Performance selling the ZPE Griptec upper pulley for the Hellcat 15% off, does anyone have any experience with this pulley/ hub setup? Would it be any different than a Metco?

It has some friction grooves in it, but I'm told they wear down over time. Also, I'd avoid fixed pulleys personally and go with the Hellraiser design that decouples just like the stock pulley. Made by the same folks actually.

My problem with the Hellraiser is the lack of ability to switch pulleys/tune easily depending on fuel, that’s why it’s between the Metco/Griptec for me personally.

I was running 2.65 Griptec on my 900 whp Challenger and wondered why anybody would use anything else. Every Metco pulleyed car I ever rode in had belt squeak. Very annoying. I was running that 2.65 with a +10 ATI and never had any slip, dust or noise. In other words... it didn’t slip. And that was just using the stock tensioner without a additional idler to increase belt wrap. The surface may wear down over time but I didn’t experience that due to not putting a lot of miles on the car. As far as the quality of the hub and pulley combination.... there is nothing better. 5A442F77-81BA-485F-9CC0-29E75E2F92AB.jpeg EB14C23D-38D8-4CC5-B84B-9415534E21AF.jpeg B6E57FD5-1419-4922-91BD-BE85CEA79FAC.jpeg

I agree, I had a Griptec 2.31 upper on my 17 ZL1, no issues at all.

I actually have a set (2.65 and 2.85). That is one hub and two rings. All in like new condition (in the pictures). I will sell for 50% of whatever retail is. Only “but” is they are at my shop and and I won’t be getting over there until mid December. I forgot to bring them home with me so I’ve been holding off listing for sale until I have them.

My son tried a grip tech on his procharged jeep grand Cherokee srt with a 426 hemi. On that application it ate through the belt so quickly he took it off after a couple of hundred miles. There was belt dust all over the front of the motor
