Maybe someone can help on this. This diagram has the shifter cable on it. Problem is it goes from the side of the trans to the neutral pull lever in figure 7. Now if you put the car in gear the lever still moves. Now I didn't disconnect it from the trans (bottom part of cable) but wondering if it is all electronic and would still if it were disconnected? Also don't know what the purpose of the the cylinder part on the cable does

On the 15 A8, there is no mechanical interface to the transmission at all except this emergency cable neutral bypass. The shifter is totally electronic and unless the engine is running, it will not go into neutral.

So is the issue you are having is the car stuck in neutral? Or it randomly doing in neutral?

Are you having a problem @vortecd with the shifting or trying to improve the 120 millisecond shifts?
