Def not like the real CF in my 2020 RE. Mine looks “normal”. The Durango looks like particle board fiber. Not a fan.
I kinda like the marbled look, but since it's just a bunch of carbon randomly chopped and squished together I don't see how they can charge the same high price (or more) as the woven carbon that requires a lot more work to make.

"Though forged carbon fiber doesn’t offer nearly as impressive tensile ratings or strength as normal carbon fiber, it can be utilized in a more structural capacity that allows it do perform applications that traditional pre-preg weaves can’t. It can also be manufactured at a much cheaper cost than traditional carbon fiber. Forged carbon also sports a unique “marbled carbon” appearance."

There's a reason they call it "forged".... like a three dollar bill

I was led to believe that the Carbon-Fiber were real pieces.
it is carbon fibre, but not woven together. Like you throw them all on the ironing board and got after them with the flat iron.

If a Chef was making it, he would call it 'de-constructed".

Did you guys see that the console has a "red key" sized cubby/slot for the red key in the DHC? I personally don't think that's all that practical.

Not much different than the similarly sized and equally useless cubby next to the shifter on the Charger/Challenger. I guess they've had enough feedback from consumers who like to needlessly take their fob out of their pocket and place them somewhere in the console to warrant creating a dedicated cubby just for that. Apparently using the cupholder, bin ahead of the shifter, or armrest storage compartment just wouldn't do.

I always place the fob in my pocket or if I'm wearing sweatpants, gym shorts, or dress pants it goes in the cup holder.... for any vehicle.

I can't tell you how many times my Wife and I have been out somewhere in the Hellcat and I get out do to something like get the mail.

When I get back in I have to listen to her imitate the "Key fob not detected" chime for 5 minutes because I "abused" her with it.

I don't like to put it in the cup holders (because), but it there was a dedicated spot for it, I think that would be cool.

Had forgotten about that - I use that cubby (a little larger than the fob) in my Charger to hold a laser ranger.

That’s not a key fob holder, it’s the transmission release access panel - search the manual or YouTube ;)

That's what's under it, yes. But until I need to access that little red strap it will continue to be the "useless cubby".😜

I did forget about that scenario (been there). Maybe it should be called the 'sanity/relationship saving cubby' or something? 😆

Acually, with my Ram and the wife's Jeep, when the fob leaves you can just push OK on the steering wheel to make the chime stop.

@BULL

You think that's bad, the ford trucks honk at you. Now every key goes in cupholder.

@ChargerChallenger knows the struggle 🤣🤣

GM vehicles honk too. Like a short triple honk when you get out of a running car with the fob and close the door. But it will also honk if you shut the car off, leave the fob in the car, and close the door. Annoying.

It's very annoying, especially at night in a neighborhood or driveway lol.

There's a way to turn it off with forscan for ford but I believe you can't turn it off for gm vehicles.

Going to start looking and talking with dealers tomorrow.

Would be really sad to see the Charger hit the road, and the Expo EL for that matter, but I think I'd use the DHC more and given that I do not drag race essentially at all, the AWD and great street launch draw me immensely. As does the upper, lower, and tune equals ~1100....

If anyone has a dealer that has really treated them well, or moves a lot of HCs at good prices, point me that way. I shipped the Charger almost 450 miles or can go get it. (Almost made the drive to get it with one of my buddies who has PTSD but he couldn't take off.)

Not sure where you are - but Steve White Motors in Hickory NC move some cars and without a doubt the easiest out of state I’ve ever dealt with.

20 mins and I was out the door - heck maybe 18.
