Youā€™d be better off just towing it home and charging it there, unless you had an hour or two to waste. Would likely be a more efficient use of electricity as well.

No donā€™t need to being my wife could possibly be another 20 miles short to a charging station. This is all mapped in your trips to actually know. My point is if I am on a road trip following my wife on her Mach e which has a shorter distance than my Lightning we could pull over and she could use my extra battery range to get her to the Charging station.

But it charges at the rate of like 20 miles per hour of charging, right?

Itā€™s one of those things that is cool but not actually practical and almost nobody would find themselves in a situation where this is useful.

You have a good imaginationā€¦you can make money escorting EVā€™s on long distance trips. Wait. How many hours did it take you to get less than 100% charge? Looks like a long layover before you make the return trip? Can you plug in to 240V at the other end like you can at home?

@AeroF16 just gave me a great idea and Iā€™m not making fun of anyone here. I am going to plug in my wifeā€™s car tomorrow and see exactly how long it takes to charge from my truck. Excellent idea to test at home instead of on the road. Thank you @AeroF16 for a great idea.

Extension cord from one car to another, keep taught, just like tow cable... :)

Sounds like you need to be a logistics expert to plan a simple trip, no good for people who like map books.

I know my nephews Model 3 took twice as long to charge on house power (dryer plug in) until he spent $700(+) to get the Tesla charging station installed.

But doesn't charging her car reduce your range? What if you charged up her car and then you both ran out of juice a mile or so from home? Have you thought about buying a second electric F150 and keeping it charged at home? Then you could walk home, drive the second F150 back, charge her car, follow her home, then drive her back, charge the first F150 and you could each drive one back.

Funny funny funnyšŸ˜‚

This morning I am going to plug in my wifeā€™s Mach E Space White which needs charging and make a video to see how long it takes to charge say like 50 miles. And as mentioned how much it took from my truck. Presently I am planning going 198 miles to the easiest exit at a gas station on Route 81 with a Super Charger. My wifeā€™s Mach E probably wonā€™t make it and will be maybe 10-20 miles short. And she isnā€™t even wanting to do it really since she happy driving the 4Runner Pro. But it would be a great learning experience for others to see the challenges of the Save the World Bucket of Batteries vehicles. The saying years ago we would call a piece of crap car a bucket of bolts my new saying is a bucket of batteriesšŸ˜. I will post later.

The wife has to go to work than head to Tn which is a whole other variable as well. And we need a separate vehicle in Tn for her to drive as well. But yeh itā€™s more about the challenges of traveling in these EV vehicles that I want to share but think the wife may chicken outšŸ˜‚

in all honesty............ I will embrace fully electric or hydrogen vehicles when the range is vastly improved.
but for now I will stick with the most fuel efficient 1/2 ton on the road to date.
GMC sierra 3.0 straight six turbo diesel.
