It's a mind boggling search with all the units available out there these days. Every time I think I've found one that suits me, another better one comes out. I wish someone would come up with one that nicely installed in the grille and hooked up to the Uconnect.

Magellan MiVue 480D.
Front and rear HD. Comes in handy quite a bit.
I witnessed a really bad accident, but unfortunately the dashcam didn't capture it because it had stopped recording 2 months prior without notifying me. Once I reformatted the card, all has been fine. This is a known concern because of the constant heat cycles, read/writes, significant amount of files being written, etc... So it comes with the territory. That being said, just keep an eye on the card and do some playback occasionally.

Friend of mine has the BlackVue or something like that, it has wireless capabilities which are pretty cool. I use an iDragon usb/lightning adapter with great success.

I have a Vantrue Pro in 3 cars. It has a forward camera and one that watches the passenger compartment and of course out the windows too. I like that aspect as it shows if I get into an incident I wasn't distracted, etc. Its about $200 but fairly often is $150 for holiday sales.
It will also come on if motion is detected using an internal battery.

BlackSys 200 front/back system.

Go to Blackboxmycar.com website; they review EVERY dang make of camera and are fair in their reviews. They rated my BlackSys as “on par with” the Blackvue but at half the cost.

I'm looking at the Blackvue 900s 2 channel. I assume the OBD adapter is the simplest solution to use it in parking mode since the fuse box is located in the trunk.

My ReplayXD has served me well for almost 10 years now.
I really like that it's so small and unobtrusive.

It is. I still don't run parking mode as I haven't sufficiently extended the harness I have on my bench.
