If you check your setup screen you will see it there. It's also in your owners manual.

IMO. Sport allows the wheels to spin in the rear. It is more for drifting and such allowing not so strict traction control. The transmission shifts harder than default but not as hard as Track Mode.

For example I have a custom mode set up for the times when I need a bit more “wiggle room” on the street. Track tranny (most firm shifts), custom traction (least computer resistance), default suspension (softest ride and best for weight transfer to the rear if you need to get out of the way quick). The rest of it, steering (whatever you like) and power (always max for me) are no brainers.

It also affects the exhaust valves:
street = PCM determines opening based on driving/throttle position etc.
sport = PCM still varies the valves but with a more aggressive (open) approach
track = valves wide open all the time

Far from the expert here but this is what I seem to know- Track opens the exhaust flaps more, trans shifts harder and will not shift into 8th if it's and A8. Still has traction and stability control. Sport allows full tire spin but does not remove full stability control. A8 still slides sideway easily but not the same as traction control off. Exhaust flaps not open as wide. Unsure about shifting into 8th.

The manual does tell you the difference technically.

I know sport is dangerous with the road slightly wet.

If you have a Redeye.. Sport mode is Similar to a regular hellcat Track Trans mode. Track on the Redeye is really aggressive, Especially the suspension.. almost intolerable on the street even sport is a bit harsh usually in the Redeye I always leave suspension in Street even on pulls.

I have some similar questions. Mine M6.
If I am in street traction and I begin the rears spinning, is the motor "detuned" in response.
If so, for how long after spinning stops?
Same questions re: sport traction setting and track setting.

in sport A8 will shift into 8th, albeit higher shift point.

In street you have full traction control and stability control. It will pull timing and operate the brakes to try and control spinning and slid.

That is much safer than sport. Did a quad droople tail spin on an 8 lane hwy last week. Took up all 4 lanes.

Thanks..good info. The additonal question is do any of those programmed responses linger after the spinning stops. On one post, someone stated that data logging indicated there were persisting changes for a time after hitting rev-limiter, making the power lower thereafter and thus making the car slower til it reverted to "normal". Does that happen if you spin the tires in street traction mode?
What I'm wondering is this...I know spinning ain't winning, but is it even worse than that because of lingering engine management effects..

Honest answer is I don't know how long. but I doubt it is longer than necessary to control the issue.

There is also a 'Drive Mode' supplement manual that is nothing but about the drive modes.
Pick a year on Dodge.com under Owner's manuals, then look for the 'Drive Mode' manual.
