The electric car Revolution is here for sure and think how the Ice Age is in someways just that the ice age difference in power. The Electric Cars instantaneous torque to the max will probably create more crashes than we have seen in modern times. Think about how the torque curve over the BRAKE curve is not equal to what us Ice Age drivers are used to. Flying a jet I guess could possibly be used as an analogy and maybe @AeroF16 could share his .02 cents on this thought as well. I would ask @BULL and @Hunter to evaluate but their Helicopter days still have their heads or should I say brains spinning like the rotors above their heads. And damn if that ain’t a reason for great concern to have windmills next to your house:geek:

I watched a video of a Tesla 3 driving down a simple dirt road and didn't do well. It had a motor on each wheel. It had trouble every time it tried to run over a rock because of the instant TQ. All it wanted to do is dig 4 holes.
Something must be done about the instant TQ. I don't think these new electric trucks will do well in the dirt.

I hate to say it
But once the bugs get worked out

Self driving cars will eliminate
Accidents
Speeding (n)
Tailgating
Red light warriors
Left lane assholes
Merging idiots
People getting lost
Last minute lane changes
Etc etc etc

People get dumber by the hour so this will help the smart ones stay safe from the dumb ones
Especially on motorcycles

I don t think it will happen in my lifetime
But if my ( spare ) car can pick me up at the front door of a bar & take me home to my back door without me touching the wheel
I m in
How about sending your car to the beer store for curb side service while you sit in your recliner ?
Its coming boys

Those older folks
Remember party lines, the first microwave experience, mobile phone ?
Wireless TV remote
That shit was like yesterday

Younger people "What is a party line"

Amazing how technology enables and promotes ignorance and stupidity.

Did the crash cause the call to prayer or did he crash because he wasn’t participating?

You have to be sober to program your spare car to pick you up at the bar.

I wouldn't mind seeing something an ice + electric combo out of a next gen hellcat.

Something like dual motors to power the front wheels and a normal combustion unit powering the rear, you could do something like a 5.7 supercharged to make 600hp plus two electric motors making 50-70 hp plus 90-100 lb ft torque and you would pretty much make the charger an all year around performance monster.

Pros
Fixes rwd issues in winter
Retains the same power and adds more torque
Saves gas
F*ck the gas guzzler tax

Cons
No replacement for displacement???
More weight
More sh*t that breaks

I've spent a considerable amount of time in automation. (Self-driving cars = automation)

In my opinion, they (self-driving cars) will never meet an acceptable standard.

Why?

  • Hysteresis (ALL sensors)
  • ”Five 9's" (unachievable and still not good enough)
  • Software (human factor)
  • Infant mortality/failure (components)
  • Complacency ("operators" taking the autonomy for granted - we've already seen this)
  • Corporate vs Individual responsibility (deaths will still happen with no one being tangentially responsible)

No one (politicians) wanted to make driving an earned privilege instead of a Right, and technology is being used as a fix for the real underlying problem.

I ******* HATE self driving cars!
