The FAST race is this week the 13th and 14th. Thursday will be TNT so you are able to get plenty of runs in. Mike whom I bought the 3.09's and axles from is going to let me borrow his JLT for testing. I will get a couple of baseline runs in then go back and forth with the stock intake and JLT. I did this on my Daytona and ran the same time and MPH with both. His tuner said the JLT was worth 40hp on his car. He does have pulleys, bigger throttle body, snout and plate porting. I will also find out about this louder supercharger whine

I’d like to see a comparison of the JLT with the rain guard on vs off on the earlier hoods. JLT suggests lower iat’s with the guard installed.

I doubt there will be meaningful difference, but will definitely follow the test.

It should show in your mph but air and engine temperature will be a factor.

Going back and forth same day I will be able to tell if there is anything there. If it is worth more it will mph more every time. Only issue I see is if there is a traction issue. As long as it hooks then I can compare times

Looking forward to the results. I put one on my stock Hellcat for the noise enhancement. I doubt there is much power to be had but its a nice thought. I'm hoping your real world testing shows some benefit. I'm keeping mine on even if you show a loss though cause I like the whine. (y)

I swear my JLT gave me a little more on top end. Can I prove it? No. Will I try? No. Do I give a shit? No.:giggle:

JLT has pretty nice dyno tests on their intakes. I went with JLT in my 5.7 Daytona and now my Jeep GC. It seems to me to be a seat of the pants difference but your grill and existing setup seems like it will be hard to beat.

I honestly don't think it will gain anything. If it did people like Bmason and Racer X would have one

Interested in your findings. I am not expecting anything but wait and see.
I tried a well known competitors and My car is slower with it.
That is without a tune mind you.

Stock car I'd not expect much if any difference. Modified car may benefit. Will be an interesting test.

I pulled the filter for a couple runs on my stock air box back when, and it made no difference when my car was stock.

Those dyno test are in a controlled environment with a fan on the front of the car generally. Real world you can get a little off the road heat, as well as under hood temp increases.

I personally have the LMI but it was purchased mainly for the sound. Im not sure if it picks anything up or not

I bought mine after reading a magazine dyno comparison between 6 CAI’s. It was a few years ago. The JLT tested the highest and was the lowest price. If they do comparisons under the same conditions, you can see if one seems better than another. I think the JLT is pretty good.

On a modified car it does help . I did a test at the track 2 years ago between the stock air box with no filter, JLT , and LMI . Same day , same testing cool down and times etc. On my car the LMI was a hair faster then the JLT but both pick up over the stock box on my car . But my car is modified and has different air requirements. It's all about how much air volume your engine wants .

JLT claimed 23HP for my Terminator. They were correct and my Termy was bone stock. The tube and air cleaner were much bigger than stock so maybe that's why.

There was a lot left on the table in the intake exhaust of those mustang's from the factory though. At the time the HC was the best designed american offering I ever saw from a major manufacturer

I will look when I get home . I know I posted the results in my "project demons breath " thread . I will get them for you .
The big difference was all on the big end of the track after the 1/8 .
