Dropped my cradle yesterday and am installing my AAD stuff. Got to the point where I was wiping down everything because it was a mess and then called a day because I was heading out to dinner with the woman. I’m back this morning installing my toe links and notice the passenger side rear shock has been leaking, not a small amount either.

I am not even going to try and warranty this even though the car has ~12K miles. But since everything is down I’ll just replace it. Wanted to see if there are any options that are better than stock that will work with the adaptive electronics or if I should stay OEM. Also I see 2 different part numbers that I can use....

Yeah more than likely going to roll the dice with an eBay one that looks in good shape. They can be had for $200-250.

Shit is out of control!

Nice work! While the cradle is down are you installing the BMR Bushing Kit, Differential Lockout Kit? Obviously the Cradle Lock Out Kit should also be done now if not already. Perfect time...

This is NOT a leak, this is present on nearly all Hellcat shocks.

It is from the factory like that, use a light amount of brake cleaner on a rag and clean it up. Check after a bit.

@BULL I appreciate the thought, but I understand what you are talking about. This is more than that, almost like a seal failed. The whole shock was wet, the fluid leaked onto the spring arm/cribbing/garage floor.

Wow...

Yeah, that's something different...

Sorry, it's just that I've seen several people think that they had a bad shock when it was the typical smear from the factory.

No problem man, I would rather you make sure than me go out and spend money needlessly! 🍻

That was exactly my motivation (and also why I said to check it after cleaning it up)

But it's clear you've got a failure of some sort.

It's too bad shocks aren't more serviceable...

Mine came with a can of stop-leak in the trunk. Doesn't say it can't be used for shocks.

Almost certainly won’t work on a tyre.🤓
